Here, you go. I got to thinking about it and decided to make a chart of compatibility. I color-coded it, and included the elements, and the different relationships. By the way, friendship also counts as parental, they run the same "platonic" course, sort to speak.

But can you really just base relationships on surface information?

This is confusing in that it's contradictory. You list green-yellow as 'good lovers', and yet the two green-yellow signs are inevitably of the 'friendship' and 'hate' elements for your element - so one should be ok for friendships and the other possibly ok for friendships but never considered for a romantic relationship?
And the orange signs are supposed to be 'bad lovers but good friends', yet the orange signs are always of the 'love' element for any given sign (i.e. for Cancer, they are Taurus and Virgo) - so either they actually are good lovers, or the only sign within the 'love' element worth considering a relationship with is the one directly opposite you.
I'm not saying I think it's completely wrong or anything, I'm just a bit confused as to how its all supposed to play out given these contradictions.

Yes, I see what you mean. That does pose a problem with my theory. I was probably a little to gung-ho in simplifying it. Using my own sign, Libra, I can see your point. I'm cool with Taurus but not at all fond of Pisces.
I'll revise it using the Grand Cycle.

stressed Ugh, I've spent two days trying to figure out an accurate way to revise this chart, but I just don't have the personal experience with each sign necessary to solve this problem. I'll need more books.
The current version posted is the best I can come up with. After I've read more about a compatibility I will let you know.
crying I feel defeated.

Oh, don't feel defeated - you can hardly be expected to find a perfect formula for compatibility between all twelve signs in a few days. I think what you're doing is great - you've put far more thought and effort into this than I ever have (or probably ever will) and there is certainly some truth in what you're saying - I've heard that the sign directly opposite you is supposed to work well (although not having met many leos I can't vouch for it personally). But don't feel discouraged - if people didn't think about things and sometimes hit on problems when doing so, nobody would ever discover anything. Also, I was wondering - what's the grand cycle?

It's something I read about in a book called The Secret Language Of Birthdays. It's my favorite astrology book, and has a wealth of knowledge. Here's the url for my website, I have a summary for the grand cycle on this page. Click HereIf you want to know more about it, I suggest you read that book.

So I guess meeting people who have the signs your inexperienced with and getting to know them then revising the charts is out of the question?

lol, cheeky. Sure, but not anytime soon. I meant I'd read about it from someone who does have the experience. People do write books about compatibility.
