- The .....

[ The Basics of Breeding ]
- The ..... creatures that share this world with the humans are just as capable of giving life as the humans. There are several things that should be noted when considering breeding your totems, however!
- Keeping: You are only allowed to keep one offspring per parent from your Totems, ever. If you breed two of your own totems together then you are allowed to keep one offspring. If either breeds again later with another UtNL you may not keep any offspring, it still counts. This rule is in place to prevent hoarding.
You MAY: If you cannot decide on a home for them then you may either return them to the shop with a request for them to be homed (you can choose between a Newbie raffle, a Free-for-all raffle, Random page drawing, or Contest of the shop's choosing), contest them away, or say that they died at birth (mortality rate, predators, accidental death).
You may NOT: You are not allowed to sell, pet-trade, trade, or otherwise hand out these offspring in any way that is of profit to you.
When ..... you're ready for your totems to breed there is a certain procedure that we ask you to follow. There is a form that is included in the guild that you must fill out and each breeder will have their own set of rules to follow.
- Role-plays: Each parent must present three role plays, totaling in six. At least one of these role-plays must be with one another and give some kind of evidence that a breeding between the two is logical/possible. No pr0n, please, just a general sense of "Like + Like = Breeding", or something along those lines.
Payment: The cost for breeding is, for now, 3k (per offspring). Payment should be sent as soon as you have received word on how many offspring your totem will be having. If you recollect payment from the owners or not is up to you to decide and work out.
- Litter Sizes ..... Each species can birth a different number of pups or cubs, some species can even crossbreed! Not all, though. Some factors also contribute into litter sizes. Not much is known about this yet, information will be added as it's gathered.
- Totem of the Dog: 1-5
Totem of the Wolf: 2-6
Totem of the Lion: 1-6
See below for Adolescent and Random Male breedings, they have special rules.
Other things to Note ..... On top of the litter sizes and procedures, there are also a few other things that should be noted. Inter-species breeding, adolescent breeding, rogue/lone breeding, so on and so forth.
- Adolescent breeding: Is highly discouraged and frowned upon, due to the extreme mortality rate. Also, due to their mental immaturity most adolescents are not emotionally ready to start rearing a family of their own.
- Adolescent breedings will result in a maximum of half of the maximum for that species. (Example: Adolescent dogs can only have up to 3 offspring, instead of five.)
There is a 50% chance that offspring from adolescent breedings will die.
There is a 75% chance that if offspring survive they will be runts.
Random Male breeding: Is not rare, nor as unsuccessful as adolescent breeding but due to the difficulty of raising a family with a single-parent, is uncommon. Adult females that breed with a random male will have only half the maximum number of offspring possible, rounded up on odd numbers. This number is halved again for adolescent females who breed with a random male. (Example: Adult female Dog-Totems can only have up to 3 offspring, instead of five.)
- Adolescents who breed with random males will have a maximum of 1 offspring, in addition to their mortality rate and offspring-health rolls.
