"...And that's how I single-handedly defeated an entire squad of Fire Nation soilders."

The teenager stared at the old man. Their expressions were reversed; the teen looked aged and ready to fall over dead where as the old timer had an almost youthful-looking smile. The 'youngster' couldn't help she looked ready to drop. It had been a good hour of listening to this old guys stories! "Sir," she spoke up suddenly. "I just want to know your order."

"Oh. Right, right. I'll need another few minutes for that, Koko."

"...It's Kirai."

"Right, right. Run along now." Master Woo shooed her away with a sweeping motion of his hand and stared at his menu. The little resturant had just opened up, but already it was quite popular. All the tables had at least one occupant at them, including himself, since he'd decided to grace them with his presence.

You know, help a small business out by having someone famous like him show up.

Light blueish eyes looked around as she walked through the village. Finally some civilization! After what seemed like forever of walking, and walking, there was finally some releif! Her feet were killing her, and she was well beyond tired. And not only that, her stomache let out an undignified noise, immediately earning a deadpan look.

Her feet led her to a resturant that had to be rather new -- at least, well, she couldn't remember there one being here before. Still, it was a welcomed sight.
She steped in, biting her lip in her innate timidness, and looked around. It looked very much like the entire establishment were full. Well, that was certainly good for business, but it did nothing for her desires,...

A waiter approached Sakana. His smile was welcoming, but also tense. Good for business it may be, it was stressful on the staff, especially with people like that old guy around. "Can I help you, ma'am?"

Speak of the devil, Master Woo spotted the potential victum--uh, customer--and waved his hands wildly from where he sat. "Excuse me, lad, she can come sit over here!"

The waiters eyes widened in alarm and he mouthed a pleading, 'Don't listen.' to Sakana, hoping she would heed his warning. For her sake and the sake of those around him who had to listen to all his babbling.

"Ah, yes sir I-" She began, just as Master Woo spotted them. Poor girl didn't know what she was getting herself into now,..

The waiter seemed to mouth a warning, and Sakana couldn't help but give an appologetic smile.
"I would feel bad if I did not take the kind man's offer, sir," She said, giving a slight bow of the head.
Oh, dear Sakana. Sometimes the timid girl was kind to a fault. Though, the traveling healer perhaps had the patience it took to deal with this person, whom the waiter seemed so inclined to ward her away from? Sakana delt with children, and thier wild stories many times before. In fact, she found the child's imagination quite facinating. Whatever story this man had to tell, surely should could bear it with the same facination as she did any child's story? Well,..we'd see.

The waitress assigned to that table was across the room assisting another customer. She looked no less than horrified the man had a guest. He'd never stop now!

With a strong air of regret she, in an almost cautious way, tip-topped back over to the table. "Um, are you ready...to order yet, sir?" Her question was for Master Woo, but her eyes observed Sakana instead, wandering what person was tolerant enough to have a meal with this man.

"Yes, Kori--"

"--Kirai"

"--Right. I'll take... hm.. let's see." He eyed the menu for a moment before finishing with, "All of it. Two of them. Go on now!"

"Y-Yes, sir!" she gawked, dashing off to the kitchen. Who knew some burnt out old teacher was still that loaded?!

"So, young lady, where is it you're from?" Master Woo questioned Sakana, running a finger along his moustache.

Sakana meerly blinked in amazement when Master Woo ordered. That was,....a lot.
As the lady - Kirai - dashed off, Sakana took a seat, giving the friendliest smile she could.

"I uh- I am from the water tribe. The, uh, the south. My name is Sakana. Thankyou for letting me sit with you," she said, giving the same polite bow of the head she had given the male waiter before.
"err, might I, might I ask who you are, sir? You are,.from here, yes?"

Conversation wasn't Sakana's stong point. She was never verballly artistic, which probably stimmed from her shyness. Despite the young adult that she was, she often gave off the impression she was much younger than she was. It sometimes left the parents of the children whom she healed somewhat reluctant, prefering a more sure, and experienced healer over the innocent young lady, but Sakana was good at what she did, and often that was enough for the parents in the end.

It may have been an unlucky thing for someone like Sakana, who spoke quietly and was not good at conversation, to sit with someone the exact opposite. Loud and talkative. Really talkative.

"The Southern Tribe, is it? Oh, yes, I know that place. Bunch of slackers if you ask me." He paused. "Who am I?" Silly waterbenders! "Why, I'm Master Woo," replied the teacher, stressing the 'master'. "I'm the greatest teacher in the Earth Kingdom. I taught the Avatar herself." ...Sort of.

The people around them groaned, having heard the story a good three times already.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 27, 2007 5:25 pm

"Ah. Forgive me, I, I do not really listen much to the, uh,..well, to information pertaining to,.important people. I will, err,..catch word in my travels, but unless there is word of epidemic, illness, or injury, I really,..don't catch much word of anything,..."
She siad, looking down at her hands, which were neatly folded in her lap.

Sakana could recognise a prompt when she heard one though. "Really?" She said, urging Master Woo on with his story, while well aware of the groan all around, causing her to bite her lip.

With or without prompting, he would have rambled on, so those around them (who already knew this the hard way) didn't entirely blame Sakana. "Why yes! You know, when I was a youngster, they thought I might be the Avatar. Just a simple prodigy, I'm afraid."

The waitress, tray in hand, had made her way back to the table. Foods of all different sorts were placed in front of them, which Master Woo eyed approvingly. "Very good, Kala!" The worker rolled her eyes and didn't bother correcting him this time.

"You should be less nervous, young lady," Master Woo directed to Sakana. "The water tribes breed proud people! Pig-headed and too confident, I say, but proud none the less!"

Sakana shook her head. "I am afraid I am the exception to that. Though I,.I am very proud of what abilities I do have. I-I just don't,..choose to, err,..flaunt them, I guess."

Yes, inside she was very proud of what she could do. Not only what she could do to heal, but the knowledge of other things. She has pent a great deal of time when she was younger, with a botanist friend of hers from the earth kingdom, since, well, there wasn't much growing of anything where Sakana called home. Alot of the kids her age thought she was wierd, back then, choosing to learn herbal properties, rather than combat, or something or another. No, Sakana had always been gentle. A natural born healer.
Some are born leaders, some worriors. Sakana was destined to heal, and that's just what she had aspired to do.
