Ohhh...first topic in this section! Anyway....if you got a disability rating from the VA what did you end up with and did you have to fight to get it?

I ended up with 70%. Didn't have to fight for it, went pretty easy for me.

When my husband got out of Army first time he got 30% he did not have to fight for it or anything. that was April 2002 his first check I think we maybe 30 days after he got out.

He spent 2005 on Iraq, is still actually NG. He just got an 80% rating with no fight and will probably be bumped up to 100% after the week and a half he spent in hosp getting tests run before Thanksgiving. Kinda hard for Va to dispute TBI when MRI shows 4 impacts to the brain and his motor skills and cognitive skills are less then they should be. Besides the nightly migraines...

I'm 100% due to unemployability with 90% overall (yes, I had to fight to get it), I'm going back to fight for my last 10% overall lest they decide to look at everyone's unemployability like they just looked at everyone's PTSD rating's. If they took away my unemployability I'd be back down at 90% and I live on my disability... anyways... it was quite a fight for me and a few people I have helped.

I've been on disability for about 8yrs now due to the military's lack of care which resulted in a loss of an organ. It was actually pretty easy since it was a cut and dry case of neglect. I receive a rating of 60%.

50% and I still get seen regularly at the VA hospitals. Real nasty head injury and bullet wound in right arm (yes, there really are just flesh wounds, voice of experience here).

Pleas don't ask about the bullet, but the head injury I'm pretty open about if curious. A bit comical in a life threatening way actually.

I got a letter saying they recognized me disabled but would not be giving me any money. It was only a finger tip chopped off but it shouldve been at least 10%. I didnt even bother trying to fight it.

30% and I had to fight like a madwoman. Ship's surgeon botched a spinal surgery, leaving me pretty bad off. Originally discharged with 0%, and I go back in four months for fight for the other 70%.
