Mortimer was growing increasingly fonder of this passionately vocal teenager. He allowed the slightest smile on his features as he glanced down, "Does she not have the right to be offended? Afterall, she created you, gave birth to you, life. As you said yourself, you owe your loyalty to her, and all she asks of you is your aid in her goals if you choose to prolong your life."
"How dare we have the nerve to question her divine right?" The older beast was endlessly pleased with himself. He was able to speak about this topic as though he still had concern for it when all he was trying to do was push the others buttons.

"Yeah, I may owe her my loyalty, and yeah, there's a lot I'd probably do for her if she asked, but what she wants to do is wrong! That thing is evil - there's a good reason somebody locked it up! People will die if she lets it out, us included, and her too from the sound of it!" Seriously, how stupid could you get?!
"She's not divine," he snapped, very clearly rankled by the idea. "I don't know what she is, but she's not divine."

"Not divine?" It rolled off of that pierced organ, somewhat an amused purr. "She created life from nothing. If that is not what one would call 'divine', then what is?"
Mortimer ignored the first part of the younger mans statement because he had nearly completely forgotten the history and was just leeching his questions off of what Mikhail was saying.

"No, she is not divine," he persisted vehemently, "And it wasn't from nothing. We've existed before, haven't we? Isn't that the whole point?" And anyway, what business did she have yanking them back into existence, or whatever it was she did? Maybe he'd been just fine where he was!
...wherever that had been, if it had been anywhere.
