Part 3

"Nada?" Perdita called, her voice hoarse. She searched, buy couldn't find that little light that had been so present in her life lately. Then her nose encountered the smell of roses and touched a small ball of fluff. Dragonz had doused the little plushie in rose oil so Perdita would be able to find it by smell. "Nada..." Everywhere she reached, she felt little bits of fluff scattered carelessly. A strange feeling rose up inside Perdita. Was she actually missing that little annoyance? She should be glad its gone!

Trying hard not to cry, Perdita gathered up the fluff and empty body and put it in the ripped bag. Taking the bag in her teeth, she limped back towards the observatory. Maru would know how to fix her plushie for sure...

Special Mission - Of Lights and Sarlings

...When Perdita returned to the Observatory and found Marushii, the Sarnin-keeper was quick to put two-and-two together. "Here -- let me take that, Per..." Marushii said, her voice weighing with sadness as she gently took the bag and fluff from the Sarnin. "In the meantime, why don't you go play with your new little sister? She's a Draconic, meaning she's half dragon... Be sure to tell her to be careful -- I've already learned the hard way that their claws are sharp, and at first they're a bit careless with them." There was a faint scent of blood and antiseptics on her, but most of that was drowned out by the scent of dust and ink -- it appears that Maru was working before Perdita came in.

When Perdita discovers Aini, she is playing with Dra'seiya, who is unmistakable with his scattered, rippling soul-lights that reflect the stars. "Ah, Perdita! It's good that you've come. I think Aini would benefit for a short trip outside -- what do you think?"

Without waiting for input, Aini immediately chips, "Outside!" and the decision is made. The three (Aini, Dra'seiya and Perdita) make their way outside, where Dra'seiya finds himself a comfortable spot to lie in while Aini chases butterflies. However, it isn't long before Perdita notices a fluttering, orange light near where Aini is playing... And before she could move, Aini immediately spots it as well. "Pretty!" She squeals, before her soul-light can be see bounding after it, attempting to catch it.

Dra'seiya doesn't move, and appears to be humming to himself.

Well, what are you waiting for? Catch Aini and figure out what that light is before Aini bounds into the forest! Even for a draconic, the forest around the Observatory is no place for a sarling...
