Uumi watched and was calming more and more. Another girl... but he should be thankful for that. For some reason the crazy gene seemed to strike the males hard in Syeira's family line... He smiled faintly as his eyes rolled over the cream and red. It was a lovely combination, she didn't look like anyone else in the family... er, as far as he could think about all of Sye's relatives. Her creamy color reminded him faintly of the pridelands, but it was more of sye's lighter coloring. All of his new born daughters were pretty...

"Doing fantastic, as always." He said and smirked lightly, but then turned slightly to hide it. One dark little girl and two 'lighter' little girls. And a surprise in this litter, when the cubs would be opening their eyes. Where had the green come from? At least the question would not come for another few days.

Syeira smiled weakly as she heard Uumi’s words, though her jaw still remained tightly clenched. The calm manner with which Uumi was handling this was also a bit of a surprise, he usually wore a rather upset, disgruntled face when she was giving birth to a litter. Still, she had to congratulate him on it, he was doing better than he ever had, and he didn’t seem like he was quite regretting having to deal with them. Maybe he really was trying like he said they would.

She frowned rather suddenly, stretching out her paws a little farther and dragging deep trenches in the hard-packed dirt of the floor. It was only another few moments before she had pushed out a fourth daughter from this litter, panting as she licked the little girl clean. She was so similar to the previous daughter, with her pretty red legs, though she lacked a face mask and had a much darker, black pelt instead of that pretty cream.

“Four little girls,” she said with a soft chuckle, though she felt her gut still wrenching in pain.

He blinked. Four little girls! He wondered if that was all but didn't ask, he hoped so. Smaller than their previous litter which meant easier to handle, right?

"Four.." He repeated and leaned down, licking at the top of his head as he stared at the wriggling little bodies. "Good job." He whispered, unsure of what else to say. He was beginning to feel awkward.

With one last round of digging claws and gritted teeth, Syeira finally pushed out the last child that had been squirming all alone in her bulging little belly. The surprise with this last child was that it was not in fact another little girl, but a beautiful little boy. He was white, which was a surprise, for the only family she knew with white on them was her younger brother Tamu. Although he did carry the mane color of her eldest brother and both eyelids and mouth mask were a crimson undoubtedly from his father.

She smiled weakly as she finished cleaning the little beauty and tucked the little boy in with his older sisters. The pain in her body had all but submerged and the birthing process had come to an end. With a deep breath, she glanced up at her mate with a small nod and a little sigh of relief. “That’s all Uumi, that’s.. all.”

Another little boy? The smallest little boy! But Uumi didn't like the little boys! Look at Taabu.. counting all weirdly and having his breathing problems to a lesser extreme! Damu with his weird personality just like Sye's younger brother... Azima and his being gay. Uumi didn't even know about the nonsense twin-soul-stealing thing.

"Beautiful again.." He whispered to the top of her head, slowly laying and nuzzling her very lightly as he watched the cubs. A white boy. He certainly was the oddball of the litter.

Syeira nodded softly in the direction of her mate, staring down slowly at the children curled up at her side. Well, perhaps this boy would be different from the others, yeah? Taabu had grown out of both his counting and his sickness and now lead a rather normal life, and apart from Azima’s odder tendencies, he was still a pretty normal adolescent regardless. Damu would never change, and that was to be expected, but unless this little boy ended up with the same problem, she figured they’d be quite alright. Perfect, actually.

“Very beautiful,” she said quietly as she lay her head down on her paws, shutting her eyes slowly. That had been a very long experience, and she was tired beyond reason at this point. “I’ll eat when I wake up,” she said quietly, curling her tail around her hind leg and shifting just slightly to get comfortable with the little squirming children against her side. Then, she simply began to drift off to sleep, content with the new additions to her family.

Uumi lay with his head resting lightly on Sye's back, just watching the little ones squirm and listening and feeling his mate's breathing. He was not tired, though he probably should have been with all the stress this morning. His eyes flicked to the door and then back to his children.

He took a deep breath and smiled. "I hope you guys are much more normal.." He whispered, and continued to speak to them softly. It seemed Uumi was trying very hard to be a father, telling stories to deaf ears. Nice and quiet so that Syeira wouldn't hear him and so that she could sleep. He wasn't quite ready to show how committed he was feeling toward this litter, Sye probably wouldn't let him live it down. But he usually was in a very good mood after Sye put so much effort into bringing new lives to the lands..
