"Mrrf." Xanul muttered, rubbing at his eyes with a paw as he got up from his slumber. He slowly peeked over at his siblings and mother, who were still sleeping. Obviously, Xanul didn't need much sleep to be his energetic self.
But he was bored. Bored of being alone. Bored of being stuck in the library with his family while they were still asleep. He longed to go out, although the last time he had, he had almost gotten into trouble, creating that portal. Not that he knew what it was now.
The dark-haired kit padded over silently to where his brother lay and nudged him with his muzzle. "Xelonn." He whispered. "Wanna go and find Bob with me?" It would be exciting! Both of them on an adventure!

Something ...was nudging his face. Xelon grumbled and mumbled to himself, trying to bat away whatever was keeping him from his sleep. He groaned and rolled over before sitting up slowly, finally cracking his eyes open a little.
Xelon squinted, making out his brother in the darkness. It took a moment to realize that Xanul was looking at him. "Eehrr..." he muttered incoherently, rubbing an eye with his paw. He blinked a few times and refocused on Xanul. "What're you talking about?" he whispered back. "Bob ran away, didn't he? How d'you know where to find him?" He glanced warily at his mother and sister, making sure that they were still asleep before turning back to his brother.

Xanul grinned as his brother awoke, dark tails swishing happily in excitement. "Well...he did." The kit tilted his head with a small frown. The last time he had seen Bob, his pet had taken him near where Daddy was. And he met a nice kitsu! Who gave him hair gel! But that was not the point.
"But he's my pet!" Xanul whispered back, padding towards the door and motioning for his older brother to follow. "He could be lost out there!"

Xelon chewed thoughtfully on a hair strand. "I dunno... Bob's nice n'all but... what if Mommy finds out?" He frowned and looked back at his mother once more, torn between staying behind and following Xanul.
Well... it wouldn't hurt to just make sure Bob was alright, would it? He reluctantly got up, brushing a piece of lint off his shirt before quietly following his brother to the door. I'll just follow n'make sure Xanul doesn't get in trouble, he thought to himself. "Weeell... where to look first?" he asked, keeping his voice low.

Xanul stopped in his tracks and frowned. Well, he certainly didn't want to get into trouble with mommy, but he could explain it to her right? Mommy would understand. Reassured, the kit smiled. "We'll be back before mommy wakes up then!" They wouldn't take long to find Bob...would they?
The kit nudged open the door and walked out of the room. "I think he's outside. He brought me to the Mountain once. So maybe he likes the outside." Then again, Bob could have brought him there because Xanul had asked him to take him to his daddy. But they couldn't go that far.

"Okay... better hurry then." The kit followed his brother out the door, taking care to shut it behind him. He winced at the click, hoping that it hadn't woken anyone in the house. Xelon trotted up to where his brother was, and slowed down to match his stride.
"The Mountain? But that's faaar. What if he went farther?" His mind imagined wildly of the places Bob could have gone to. "Well I guess we could look outside first. Maybe he's just waiting for us." His tails waved excitedly as he tried to look outside the window for a glimpse of Bob.

Xanul nodded happily. Yay! They were going on an adventure! "I dunno. Maybe he came back to look for me?" He frowned. Bob should have. After all, it was his pet. That should have been Bob's obligation.
His ears perked up. "Maybe." The kit padded to the front door, and casting a cautious glance around, opened it quietly. Ahh, the fresh air smelt so good! Xanul bounded out, his silver chain jangling around his neck. It looked so beautiful...the starry night and the moon that hung in the sky. Looking at it, Xanul felt something in him stir nervously. It seemed to be almost round...but not exactly. Mommy had always seemed to be wary of the moon; she would often glance outside the window with a deep frown on her face, and once, he caught her muttering something about a few more days. A few more days to what? The kit wondered.
