recently, before i moved out to University, my dad got really worried about how much hair i was losing...

It's not like...bald patches or anything, but he noticed that my hair was getting thinner, and that alot was coming up in the hoover (vacuum cleaner...in case no one knows what i mean by hoover ^^; )

So, after that i began to get paranoid, and realising how much hair i was loosing like...after brushin, in the shower etc.

So, my dad said i should get a good bit of hair cut off...like, a few inches at the bottom. I was really hesitant 'cos i want to grow my hair...but, i did.

It didn't really stop...some days ALOT would come out and others it wouldn't be as much. My dad thinks it's from shock...

My mum died last May, so he thinks it was from the shock of that, 'cos it was really sudden...

But, i thought it might've stopped being bad by now because i'm over it...well, not OVER it, but i'm used to it by now...

Does anyone know any thing i can do to maybe encourage my hair to become a little bit thicker? I'm beginning to get really paranoid about my hair ^^;

My aunt, who gets a massage once a month, was talking to the girl who was massaging her. And she started talking about how she had a partner who they had to practice on in masseus school to get better. N'ways, she noticed that her hair and nails started growing a whole bunch, and she was getting less acne and her skin looked really nice since she was getting about 2 massages a week.

So that might help. I dunno. Just immediately sprang to mind.

I know you may not be able to afford it, (I know most university students probably wouldn't be able to afford it, but ask a close friend/boyfriend/girlfriend to give one to you once a week or something. Or see if there's a nearby beauty school (they're always cheaper because it's practice for them) if they do massages. I don't know.

And it could be just stress. I noticed that I've been "shedding", as my dad calls it, a little bit more since school started, and there's been alot of stress, so it could be that.

Or you might have alphecia. ( I don't know how it's spelled, but it's the one disease where your hair falls out. Including your eyebrows and eyelashes.) So you might want to ask your doctor about it, since you really have no clue. But whatever the problem is, I sure hope you fix it. 3nodding

EDIT: My grandma also told me there's this vitamin specifically made for making your hair and nails grow, as well as making your skin better, but I don't know what it's called. I'll ask her if you need the name...I don't think it's prescription.

I've been loosing hair here and there since school started. My mom's hair falls out like that too, but it's unnoticeable. I think a lot of girls to it, especially under stress.

I loose a lot. n_n; Then again, my hair grows at hyperspeed and I have a lion's mane.

It can be cause by many factors, like stress probably the most common source…
there’s this illness for so calling it a disease "Alopecia arietta" but I don’t think you have that... the disease have this rare condition of getting bald patches... the cause is the stress.
Other causes are, well your alimentation, the lack of vitamins can cause your hair to be more fragil as the same time as your nails….

If your boyfriend can't do a massage, get yourdad to do it.
If your dad is worried he should have no objection to help.
What you need ais a good moisturusing oil,
Almond oil is good.
Take about ten to fifteen minutes out of your week, twice, and get your dad to give you a massage.
There are LOADS of pressure points all over your head, which is what needs stimulating/massaging.
To massage your head, just use little circular motions on your scalp, including your forehead and base of skull.

It's not the best of diagrams, but the blue dots are (about) where it is best to massage.
The big blue dotish thing is where about your tempals are, they still count as a place to be massaged.
It helps if the massage is quite firm, so don't be affraid to tell the person giving you the massage to be a bit rougher.

Other than massages. When you wash your hair, use pleanty of pressure on your scalp; and if you have a plastic brush thing with the bobbly things on the end, using that firmly against your scalp when brushing your hair helps too.

(This kinda brush)
