This bugs me quite severely. One of my friends say it all the time and has rubbed off on two of my other friends. Even when I constantly tell them to please stop they keep going. It's quite irritating. 'Gay' is not a synonym for 'stupid'.

well, it's not so much used as a synonym for stupid but rather 'lame'. like, i use it to say lame. i mean, i wouldn't go up to someone and call them gay if they were being stupid (haha, if people did that, i'd be called gay whether or not they knew!) but i'll use it to describe a boring and pointless assignment. why? because it's 'lame' not stupid.

...sorry, i'm just sick of hearing the phrase "gay isn't a synonym for stupid". i mean, i guess it's because i'm for freedom of speech. if i weren't, i would watch my mouth. but yeah.

well in my opinion it doesn't mean stupid so I don't think people should say it? I'm all for freedom of speech but if something is being repeated in front of you when you've asked someone to alter what they're saying so you don't take it as an offense then I believe that it shouldn't be said.

well in my opinion it doesn't mean stupid so I don't think people should say it? I'm all for freedom of speech but if something is being repeated in front of you when you've asked someone to alter what they're saying so you don't take it as an offense then I believe that it shouldn't be said.

Thats true if you do ask someone to not say that in front of you they should respect that. However, many people will not simply because they do not care.
