DramaWiki Kiritani Shuji is the popular guy who gets along with everyone, from the jerks to the nerds to the just plain weird. The one person Shuji cannot stand is Kusano Akira. To Shuji, Akira is just plain annoying. He laughs, talks and acts funny. Things heat up when a new student comes to school. Her name is Kotani Nobuko, a girl who has no self confidence at all and is content at being made fun of and bullied in school. Shuji and Akira come to an accord that in order to make use of their "youth" they will "produce" Nobuko as the next popular girl. One of the conditions, however, is that nobody should find out that they are working together as a team to make this concept possible. Unveiled here is the story of true friendship between three unlikely candidates who would not have been friends if not given the special circumstances.

Many people starts with this drama, I think. It's one of my favourite and I love YamaP here as Akira.

i LOVE nobuta wo produce! its was so amazing! funny and so cute!!!
akira was so funny. shuuji had a twisted personality but overall, i loved it. I LOVE THE SONG!!! Seishun amigo?

First Jdrama i ever watched.. i liked it.. but it had a weird confusing ending.. i still dont understand what happened... ... lol.. and its been like a year now.. i still dont understand the meaning of it... haha... can some one elaborate?

ConFusEd[AzN]GirL First Jdrama i ever watched.. i liked it.. but it had a weird confusing ending.. i still dont understand what happened... ... lol.. and its been like a year now.. i still dont understand the meaning of it... haha... can some one elaborate? (In white) You mean why did Akira choose to go off with Shuuji instead of staying with Nobuta? It was because the one who had always been the lonliest was actually Shuuji, not Nobuta. Shuuji had always been faking being happy and what-not until he met Nobuta and Akira. Then he was genuinely happy. But THEN, he had to move away, and Akira (and Nobuta) knew that if he was left without his friends, he'd be miserable again. So Akira left to be with Shuuji. Nobuta was fine with this, because she now had other friends (like that one girl) and was capable of standing on her own. Like she said, she'd be sad for the first couple of days after Akira left, and then she'd be fine. Hope that helped. I do love Nobuta wo Produce, even though it has Kame in it. (And I try very hard to avoid anything that has Kame in it. A Kame fan I am not.) YamaPi did such as spectacular job as Akira, and Maki is AWESOME. 100% pure awesomeness. That's what that girl is. Nobuta is actually the character that I most identify with, out of all the dramas I've watched. I used to be exactly like her when I was younger. And then, like Nobuta, I met my wonderful friends.

I watched it but I didn't really like it. It was fairly funny but Yamapi's character annoyed me. xD Especially when he walked down the stairs waveing his arms. xD <3

awwh, yamapi was so cute in the drama! at first i thought he was soo weird though xD <33 one of my favourite dramas~ soo cutee ^^!

oh, how I LOVED this drama. 2nd drama I ever seen. It is still my favorite to this date. I did wish secretly in my heart that they had a second season, or at least a special episode , like a reunion of a couple years after what happened. I loved Yamapi in this. Kon Kon~! <3 One of the best dramas to start of with. Many people say they didn't like the ending but I loved it, it fitted the series to a key. I did wish it had some romance between 2 of the characters but it just wouldn't fit the series. Overall a great drama! <3

mm this thread was pretty helpful :]
when i read the description of the drama on another site they had it under the category drama, so i thought it was one of those uber serious drama's since it didnt have any comedy tags.
i tried watching a bit of the first episode and i must admit i was really confused D:
then again it was like 3 in the morning and i was half asleep..
