Final Chapter

Frank's P.O.V

"You know, it's hard losing a kid you just met. It makes you want to follow them, be with them. But then you see, you...you see the things they did when they were here, the people they made smile and the people they loved. You see what they accomplished, and what they wanted to accomplish. You realize, that maybe, even though they had so many that loved them, the things they faced, the horror, the pain, you believe that where ever they are at this very moment, they must happier. And they are," I took a deep breath, trying to put everything into words, "they are still watching over you and they still care." Everyone was looking at me, I was trying hard not to cry, but tears fell. Some other people, her friends, and our family were crying also. "Steph was my daughter, no matter if I knew her or not. She is mine, beautiful, full of life she was, she was everything a girl should have been. Though her mom abused her, she faced life day by day, laughing, loving and caring. She was someone to look up to. She and her brother Aaron were always fighting, but that was the music of love from them that I heard. Hearing them fight, put a smile on my face, making me realize, that they are brother and sister, and this is what is going to be. I imagined, leading her down, her dress flowing behind her, flowers making the path as we walked to the man she was going to marry. It may not happen in this life, but next life, I will be sure it will." I pushed the tears back and whipped the rest from my eyes. "Steph was someone we all loved, and she will always be remembered. May God watch her, protect her, like I would be right now if she was here. Thank you." I stepped down from where her casket laid. I sat next to May and Aaron and hugged them both.

"Please, join Frank and our family at his house, for refreshments and more words," Gerard said, he too came over and joined the hug.

We made way to my house, I really didn't want to talk to anyone. I just buried my only daughter, and I didn't even know her that well. I just made my way up to my room and slept through the night. I didn't even feel May get in bed. When I woke the next morning, the sun was bright and I knew, this was the start of a day, and Steph would want me to fill it with smiles, and that was what I planned to do
