Crow gulped, and gave a light chuckle. More of a nervous action. The truth of the meeting is revealed. His eyes sparkled lightly when his mind traveled to thoughts of Valefor. "Ahh Valefor" he said with a light smile "I fear things are un-simple in that area" he shook his head lightly. He wasnt even sure how he felt about the femme. Well he was sure, he just...was afraid. He didnt want to get hurt, he didnt want to hurt her. But he didnt want to miss out on what could be great.

"I havent even told Valefor how i feel...." he said with a soft smile.

Aear nodded thoughtfully, russet eyes narrowing simply due to what seemed to be his eyelids becoming rather heavy. "Aye. Th' lass has that effect i' seems. Probably be I'm nay th' best one to talk to about this, but from what Valefor tol' me, ye & I are her closest friends outside those tha' live in The Place with her. Poor choice that I may be... I might yet be the only choice ye have at this." He had not stopped looking at Crow but now his eyes opened a bit more accompanied by a sigh. "An' ye mine. For that I feel ye deserve a bit o' truth I'm nay even sure Valefor knows for certain."

The sailor's eyes flicked as if he would rather look away while he drew his thoughts together but he still did not. "Of all th' lasses I've loved, Valefor's th' only one tha' had me seriously considering kits o' my own. Now, fer many a lad this isn't that big of deal. Fer me... well it was one thing te' play family with her as we raised th' most beautiful angelic lass the world's like to ever see..." His tone, his whole countenance seemed to change as he spoke of the one they had raised and for those seconds it seemed the blue & white angel had completely forgotten who he talked to and even of what they spoke. The moment faded however as AearHwesta quickly pulled himself together & continued right where he had left off as if he had not stopped. "Another thing altogether to have it be real. I don't know if it was Valefor, the play family or more factors than this poor sailor's head can fathom. All I know is if she hadn't loved my ship as she did, likely none of it would have happened. Which even if we're both hurtin' from it now would be a right shame, Lad, though I wish I could take her hurt from her, add it te mine."

He spoke as if afraid that if he stopped he would not tell anymore. His eyes were steady again now. "Because o' that I'll ask: do you at least know what ye feel for the Lass? I'd have her happy... with a half dozen kits or more to mother. The lad that can do that, had better love her more than I do."

Crow sighed again, nodding softly. "I've often heard from Valefor, that you and I are her closest friends. It was only a matter of time before we both met" he said with a light chuckle.

He listened to Aear's tale. His eyes sparkled, his ears perked, his mind reeled. He only wished for Valefors happiness as well. At the end, he nodded lighly. "I would do anything for Valefor. I would move heaven and earth for her" he smiled almost sadly "Except she is heaven. I've never felt this way about anyone..." he sighed "I cannot possibly compare my love, to yours. I've never loved as...freely as you, its a new...emotion to me" his golden orbs fell to the ground, not wanting to meet Aears "I never knew i could feel this way. I'd never do a thing to hurt her, believe me when i say that. I wish only...." a sad sigh "to love her....."

Aear listened, watching the other male. He found himself blinking back tears. Now that would never do. he did not cry, but the russet eyes remained moist. He never knew he could feel the way he was feeling right now either. "That'll do."

The sailor's voice cracked brokenly over the words though somehow retaining some of his strength and assuredness. 'Tha' satisfies me, Crow. Though sometimes we hurt withou' meaning..." his voice trailed off a bit. "yer nay shammin me. Or yerself. That's good. Better'n me, which I'm sure we both know isn't sayin much." The sailor attempted a chuckle, but it missed catching his eyes entirely. "Bu' ye can't be lovin' her well here, Lad. Ye need te spend time wit' th' lass. Te see..."

Now Aear couldn't look either, his voice breaking even to lose the support it carried usually. It was soft... almost hollow. Sad, forlorn, but perhaps not so surprisingly... hopeful. "Te see if she loves ye too."

Crow's eyes were still downcast, so he missed the glisten in Aear's eyes. But he didnt miss the tone change. Oh a tone like that, he could never miss. Finally, after a few moments of trying to recompose himself, he lifted his eyes to watch Aear.

A slow nod, and a painful wince "Sometimes, being hurt...is as easy as leaving the room" he said in a gentle tone. Another flashback of his Before. He smiled gently at Aear "There's no shame in you my friend. Your honest, your true to yourself. You've opened yourself up to an abandonded kit. That to me, is honorable." he nodded and shrugged lightly "For what its worth" he said softly. He chuckled, and lied a paw on Aear's shoulder again, patting him softly "thank you for helping me to see how i felt...."

Aear nodded. He saw that... now. Had he unintentionally hurt more of his luvs simply by leaving them? They never said. even when he saw them again.

Crows words were like an unexpected and much needed balm on his heart, though a look of guilt flashed over his eyes at the mention of the abandoned kit. opened meself up too much, I'm thinking

"Thank ye Lad. Tha's worth a lot." His strength seemed to be coming back. Ye'll go te her then? I... I've a need te set sail." He smiled amiably. "I'm glad we met, Crow-lad. Glad ye didn't clock me a'soon as ye knew who I was. Maybe we can chat again sometime, aye?"

Crow couldnt help but chuckle. If only they knew that they'd helped each other? Ah, but they'd never know that. Both had a fair measure of stubborn pride in them. He nodded again though "Yes, i do believe i will search her out...." he ruffled his feathers, and glanced upwords at the circling crow, he nodded to the bird, as if an unseen communication passed between them.

"I know now, how i truly feel. And now..." he paused "Now i believe i have to let Valefor know...she deserved the truth as much as i." he sighed, thoughtfull for a few moments before he spoke again "Even if she doesnt feel the same...No love without risk aye?" he asked, with a gentle smirk. He was still very much a wounded spirit, but now...ah now he knew where the path to healing lay. Wether Valefor be at the other end, he couldnt know for sure. But now he knew, Love, would heal him. Eventually anyways. one thing at a time.

"I would be honored to converse with you again, AearHwesta" he smiled a genuine smile.

And I'm futher sure how I feel as well, mate. Nay that that's a good thing. I've got te get back out te sea... get her out o' me thoughts if I can. 'Least I can think o' how Valefor could be happy wi' ye , be happy that she may come te love ye as ye seem te love her. And... nay let anyone see...

The sailor stood suddenly shaking himself fully, almost vehemently fluffing out his feathers. An almost frightened look flickered on & off in his russet eyes almost like a caged animal. He had done out what he had set to do -feel out Crow's feelings for the aeon, set him to spend time with her to see if love bloomed. Now he was restless. Yes, Seer could find him nearly as easily at sea as her adoptive 'mother'... but not as easily as if he stayed on land with the Hiril docked. He had to leave.

But Crow had asked a question. AearHwesta flinched a little, thinking about it. If he answered truthfully... truthfully when he himself refused to take such a risk... by the sea! They were both better off without him!

"Aye." He replied simply. Sure & strong, but his voice cracked heavily from his own anguished heart. No love without risk. Even if he risked it... Aear felt he did not deserve Seer's love. Crow could likely be worthy of Valefor's, if he read the lad right today. He felt confident he had. There was an old loss about the male. An old loss, and a need to love & protect. Aear did not think he was far off, even if he was not entirely correct.

Then he gave a wide grin, furling his wings. "Tis been an honor chattin' wit' ye, mate. I'll let ye put Valefor's worries te rest. I've a feeling it'll have more effect." He winked, then took to the skies. "Best o' luck, mate!"

The sailor beat his wings, forcing more speed. He would check on them later. Weeks maybe. It ached that it was not the call of the sea hurrying him, but the need to get away.
