We seem to not have a comics subforum. Unless all the coursework has gotten to my brain and I just didn't see it, in which case, how did I even manage to get into college?
Anyway.
Has anybody here read the Infiltration and, more recently, Escalation comics? I have both in paperback form, and I must say, they're a good re-imagining of G1. They take place in present day, where the Ark has been submerged in Lake Michigan for an undetermined amount of time (some theorists say four years, others say 4000). The requisite meatbags in this storyline are Verity Carlo, Hunter O'Nion, and Jimmy Pink. They all seem to be afflicted with Stupid Name Syndrome. Maybe this is why Verity decided to become a drifter.
At any rate, the writing is decent, if not a bit awkward in a few places, and the art is very good, aside from some points where E. J. Su slipped (there's some absurd use of super-dynamic speed lines, Verity's bracelets switch wrists a few times, and in one panel, she's sporting some serious man hands).
Still, I'd recommend it, if only for the fact that it contains my favorite awkward moment ever:
This is an example of the awkward writing. I don't think a teenage drifter would be using the phrase "I've not been wanted anywhere..." for any reason. Then again, I'm not a teenage drifter, so I wouldn't know. Still. One look at Jazz and Ironhide's faces in that bottom-right panel, and I knew that this was the best Awkward Turtle moment EVER.
So, has anyone else read them? Opinions? Comments? Slander?

Yeah, I have both of them as well. I really enjoyed reading them. I can't wait til the next one comes out.

I do so love this series, and I too am excited for the next installment...Anybody have any release dates on the vol 3?
Oh, and is it me or does Stormbringer have NOTHING to do with the others?
