History:

Remember your mother? Well it's hard for me. She left me alone on Meno Garan. You want to know why? Well read on.....

Chapter 1.
Left behind

"Felicity come here." called the old male. "yes daddy?" then young cervi asked skipping over her hair flowing loosely around her.
"were going to a journey today to play lots of games. But while were in the boat my must sit still and not move."he said lifting her into the boat.
Jumping in after her cam her older brother and her mother stepped in holding her younger sister.
Pushing the boat out into the water her farther hopped in and started rowing across to the island. between his legs was a basket. Felicity wondered what could be in there. mom's hot apple pies or dads cooked Wareret with berries. Her mouth was watering at the thought. When the boat hit land her farther jumped out and tied it to the nearest tree.
"Felicity why don't you go and find a place to set up the basket with your mother?" He said pulling the boat a little further up the beach.
Felicity happily nodded leaping out of the boat and through the surf up the beach.
Turning she watched her mother get out placing her sleeping sister down in her basket on the boat and lifting the picnic basket out.
As her brother went to jump out her farther called out. "No son you stay and watch your sister for mum while I go get some wood."
Sulking he sat back in the boat and pouted but he waved buy to his sister.
Felicity looked at her brother. It looked like he was going to cry. ~big baby~ felicity thought walking with her mother.

After walking for a few minutes she found the perfect place.
A large open clearing with sunlight falling through the open leaves.
"here mum put it here." felicity called jumping about in the sun light.
Felicity watched her mother open the basket.
"oh Taur." her mum said closing the basket again. "i forgot the blanket. Felicity. You wait here with the basket. I'll be right back."
Felicity nodded skipping back over.
"And no peeking until later." she said walking back the way she came.

Felicity waited till her mum was out of sight before she opened the basket slightly but she gasped at what she saw inside.
On one side was all her clothes and belongings on the other was a few packs of food and a few blankets.
~this cant be right~ felicity thought closing the lid again. Turning to run after her mum.
As she neared the beach she heard her parents talking.
"Did you leave her?" Her farther asked arms crossed
"Yes. in a clearing with her stuff." her mother replied with a smile. "Finally were rid of that mistake."
"Well remember next time you get drunk Stay with in ARE tribe. I don't want any halvers in MY tribe." He said anger clear in his voice.
Felicity couldn't believe it her parents were leaving her here. No they knew she was there and were playing a game.
She was about to move out when here farther continued.
"So how did she 'die' again. I want to get the story right before we get back."
"Again? we've been going over it for the past two years.*sigh* Fine. We came over here for a picnic and she wandered off, everyone knows she liked exploring, we searched for her but couldn't find her. As it got late we found her torn clothes and lots of blood. fearing for are other children we left. Now lets get out of this terrible place before she comes back." her mother said starting to walk back to the boat
"You know it would be much easer to kill her here" her farther said following.
Felicity's eyes were filled with tears as she watched her family leave in the boat.
Slowly she walked back to the clearing and opened the basket looking at it in denile.
Soon it got late and she ate a bit of the food left but she wasn't very hungry.
As darkness approached she had managed to drag the basket back to the beach.

As the Sky turned black Felicity snapped out of her sulking. If she sat here like this she would die.
Gathering some branches she moved her stuff back up the beach. part of her still hoped that her parents would come back for her.
Lighting a fire her mind wandered back to the time she was with her parents. Her brother always had the better things and was told off if he wandered to far. but her mother had always told her to go play and didn't mind if she went further then she should.
~they didn't mind cause they didn't want me to come back~ Shaking her head at the though she though back to all the lessons she had learnt from her tutor.
She had often wondered why her parents got her a tutor while her brother went with the others to learn in the village.
Her mother said it was what was done. "Boys go to school. Girls get a tutor." she said allowed to herself.
~But he always came home complaining about the girls in his group.~

Thinking about her past nothing seemed to fit as neatly as it once did. Long trip to dangerous places. Wilderness training and camping trips just her and dad.
Story books just for her about travel and adventure.
~they wanted to you to be an adventure. So it would be easer to get rid of you~ Tears stung her eyes as she fell asleep near the fire.

Felicity awoke to the sun shining on the sea as dawn broke. looking around her she found that she wasn't dreaming about the day before.
opening the basket she sorted the things out.
Her two best tops went into her bag as well as her favourite book. All the food she put to one side pawing throught the rest of her belongings she found two things. The first was a charm her mother said belonged to her but wasn't alowed to wear the second was her hunting set her tutor had given her. The set contained a small hunting knife in a tribal holder and belt, a light-weight bow and several arrows , and a set of fishing hooks and high use twine.
Putting on the belt she fixed all of the peices into there slots and packed the rest of the food in her bag.
Looking around she pushed the basket back further into the under growth and covering it the best she could walked inland for somewhere to spend a few days.

Please note: Taurs are NOT RP-required pets! Though there will also be plenty of opportunities to roleplay, and good roleplay or journal-keeping will be rewarded! 3nodding

General Roleplay Etiquette

Quote:
-- No Godmodding!
What this means is, no taking control of another person's character or roleplaying through a dynamic scene without giving them a chance to respond.

Example of UNACCEPTABLE roleplay:
Maia leaps up, and with a deft slash of her blade, she strikes the beast down before it even has a chance to raise its claws in attack!

Example of ACCEPTABLE roleplay:
Maia draws her shortsword and charges at the beast, raising her blade to strike as she nears it.

The acceptable form allows other players to add in what their characters will do in the scenario. Remember, you're roleplaying for YOUR character... no one else's!

-- No excessive foul language or violence.
Though many Taurs are skilled in the arts of war and have more than their fair share of conflicts, there's no need to get graphic with the blood scenes. And while I don't mind occassional cursing, don't make it so regular and so vulgar that it burns our eyeballs out to read it.

-- No cybering!
Romance and allusions to the act are fine -- but if you really want to cyber with your characters, take it to AIM or someplace, please.

-- Remember some standard rules of RP etiquette:
- Please use parenthesis (( )) to denote out of character (OOC) speaking during an RP session.
- If someone has a post listed as a private RP between a small group of people, please respect that... don't just barge in with your character unless you ask first, or are invited.
- I try not to be a spelling and grammar nazi, as I know everyone's spelling and grammar differ. But do try to form coherent sentences and put some thought into your RP posts... it makes it easier and more enjoyable for others to respond.

Haventree is, obviously, the hub city of Centaur life. Most young Centaurs are born and raised in Haventree, though they spend a lot of time exploring the rest of the island as they grow older. Though the easiest way to enter the Haventree valley is through the canyon to the west, there are also numerous mountain trails cutting out at all angles through the Elderachs.

The Elderach Mountains
are a favorite hunting and playing ground for many Centaurs and Cervitaurs. There are also rumors of another race living within the high peaks of the mountains... but that's all I'm going to say about that for now! wink

Nivae's Forest was named after a prominent Brightstar tribe leader. Most Cervitaurs live in this lush northern forest, which is very much a natural paradise...

...however, the southern forest, known simply as the Cursed Forest, is violently different from Nivae's Forest. While the outskirts of this forest contain many beasts that the Taurs hunt for food, supplies, and skill, the deeper parts of the forest are very dangerous. The trees have formed a thick canopy that blocks out almost all natural light. Very dark and deadly creatures are said to reside there, and more than one Taur has been killed while adventuring through.

The Isle of Exiles
is home to those Taurs who have been cast out of their tribes, for whatever reason. Normal Centaurs and Cervitaurs are forbidden to travel here to interact with the exiles, though some often do... particularly those who may have loved ones who were sent out from the tribe.

And finally, the human settlements along the northwest coast have recently been established. Centaurs such as Maia Proudtail have been making journeys to these camps to build friendship and trust with the humans, though many Taurs are still wary of humans invading their homes.

Of course, you all are free to make up your own places on the island. ^_^ These are just general areas to get started with.

And in case anyone was wondering, though the Cattaurs, Foxtaurs, and Wolftaurs DO live on different islands, it is still possible for one species to visit another. The Taurs have learned to craft boats... though they are still quite new at the trade, and their boats would never serve to travel to anywhere else except the few islands in the area.
