There's a flute who's swtiching to trombone in my band too. She's got it down, but she's having trouble too.
Just like what Kanrik said, do all of that. Also, practice practice practice. Not just in band practice, but at home. And it never hurts to look in the book for the positions. And... don't be afraid to ask for help.
Also... playing trombone will really help your flute skills. Believe me, ever since my friend started playing flute, her omishure (IUNNO HOW TO SPELL IT >.< )has improved. I just felt like throwing that in there. o3o
