Edit: Due to my horrible internet. Some data has not been able to be collected. Hopefully the F and T variable numbers wil help with some of the error.
Well obviously Sagger and their guild will not give us any data (or anyting else for that matter)... So I have decided to collect some data for this guild. I think it will help show us where the weak and strong points are in the debate.
Right now I am currently tracking several items.
Ninja Headband
Summoning Tome
Katana
solar cloak
gauntlets
flame sword
cloud
angelic and nitemare headbands
I will be tracking MC sealeds as well. There are three catagories that I am following. The price of sealeds before and after the release, and the item as it is released.
If there are any other items you think are important and should be considered let me know. This items were some of the random ones I selected and are curious about.
If anybody would like to help that would be great. You can choose any item to follow. In order to records constant and efficient data I would suggest a constant schedule or time that you choose to record data.
My current source will be the new beta marketplace. After a week or two I will try veiwing the exchange forums to gather random data sets and her variables.
In a few months of collecting data, I hope to open up a more offical thread with graphs and charts to show the changes. Right now I will just use this thread for now.
(I would also like to start tracking holiday items to get a better picture of what the market does before the season)

Looks like a good range of different kinds of items... you have new items, old items, really expensive items, and middling... nice selection, and a good idea. Best if you keep it as unbiased as you can, though

yeah I would like to include the sword of aegis or the sun staff too. It would be on the lower end of the scale but I think in a year or two they will pick up a bit.
I remember someone saying they had some stats on a couple of items. The problem is that its hard to track them down lol. If anybody knows somebody with some data or anything, it would help out greatly.

Have you been watching during the MC release? It's hard for me to tell what's going on as to the prices of everything.
Also, I'm not sure what that "Total Gold Revenue" graph on the front page of the actual marketplace is showing, is it gold earned by vendors and does it include the fee?

Well during the release I saw many things.
The prices of more popular and rare items shot up like the ninja headband. The others like the katana, tome, and cloud were fluctuating madly. There were several trades that went through that I couldnt catagorize. The lower ones didn't really do much except when someone went in an slashed a page or two. whee
The worst part is my internet went down on sunday and monday. I just lost about 5 sets of data. crying I may just take the loss and form a linear regression. The demand and supply curves for this thing are going to be random anyway.
But I think we will be seeing more violent/ dramatic changes in prices when future MC's are released.
