You're probably talking about what I used the first time I went over, it's called a Working Holiday Visa
Unfortunately, it's not available to Americans
Unless you are talking about something else entirely, give google a go, I'm sure you will come up with something

crying mmm well aww how come its not available to Americans? is there a visa similar to that but it is available to americans?
hmm would I be able to get a dual citizenship? like canadian/american maybe so I can be eligible?
