We're using that cuz it's what WIC gives us but it seems like it's causing him problems.
Aaron is having hard, little bead like poop and he's straining to go so much that he's crying.
We're switching to something else though.
Has it caused any problems for you?

I believe that wic is changing over to some sort of simulac formula in october, so maybe try that.
I havnt heard of anything wierd about that type of formula before now, but maybe your son is kinda allergic to it or something...who knows
anyways GOOD LUCK!

That's what we thought too so we switched him to lactose free Enfamil until they switch to Similac next month.
I wonder why they're switching?

The ones with Iron -can- cause constipation in some babies. My son didnt have much problem with it but I know some people who switched because of it.
WIC already changed to similac here in my state last year. It has to do with whatever company will sign the contract saying they will accept WIC to pay for their stuff. Because WIC is a federally funded (or state, cant remember) program, they dont have to pay as much as other sources (I think, this was over a year ago I was told, so dont quote me on it). So since enfamil decided not to sign a new contract with them, your stuck with Similac, which personally, my son refused to drink, we just ended up paying for enfamil out of our pocket. My mom says when I was little and got on the formula my stomach could ONLY handle similac, so each child is different.
If your son is constipated, call his doctor. Ask them what you should put him on or what you can do to help. I know that my mother in law always told me to do the leg movements with my son (you move their legs like they are riding a bike while making sure their legs are also rubbing against the abdomen with each circle done) to help with his constipation, it didnt seem to help him much though, but she swears it helps all 3 of her kids -shrugs- I would call the doc though, he should not be needing to strain that hard to go to the bathroom so yeah, call the doc.
