Well she oughta be 'cuz Ethyl's dead No names were changed because no one was innocent. So I'm surfing the Mysterious Reality Guild and come across this thread. You see, that guild's been slowing down an awful lot. (You're about to see why.) And a few members have been eager to help out. Well, that's pretty damn nice of her. She got a few rounds of applause and even a little constructive criticism. Then I come across this comment: Now, that's a little harsh. Even for me. Sonic Butterfly How sad, Tabatha998. She's trying to support the guild, you should be supportive, or at least polite. The mods mysteriously disappeared, despite the fact that this girl was really out of line. Now, I figured that comment was appropriate. I called her on it without being completely offensive. Maybe I could have been a little gentler, but then she probably wouldn't understand me. Besides, I didn't want to offend anyone, just try to get the point across that she was coming off rude. So I get this from one of the mods. Sorry, I'm not going to give Tabitha my personal thumbs up. If you want to, that's your issue. Not mine. I figured if he was going to be a jackass, I was going to treat him like one. I consider calling people rude being rude in itself, because the point is usually to chastise the person, and any form of putting down I consider rude. You, on the other hand, are being quite hypocritical, which is why it is not ok for you to be rude. Oh hell no. Sonic Butterfly Okay, that's ridiculous. So it's okay for someone to to tell another user "that's lame" but it's not okay to step in and and tell her to be nice (which, as moderator, is a job YOU should have done.) Instead I get all this bullshit about being a hypocrite. I wasn't being rude. And then you go on and on about how inappropriate I'm being? So you know what? I'm going to be rude now. Don't give me your circular logic on how people are supposed to act. Do your damn job, then you can tell me. If this is how you run your guild, then it's really no wonder this place is so slow. Ava was trying to help out, and the least anyone here could have done was be supportive. What really blows my mind is when someone on here talks her down, the damn mods don't want to step in and defend her! You've taken on an almost congratulatory stance on her comment. So screw this. If this is how you people react when a member has an idea on running this place, then I don't want to be a part of it any longer. Have fun reviving this pitiful place. And trust me, if you keep on treating people this way, more and more people are going to leave. So seriously... was I being rude to Tabatha? Because I wasn't trying to be. And when people like "The Baron" start talking like that, I figure any rights to civility they might have had before are kaput. So I don't really care if I was being rude to him, because as far as I'm concerned now, he deserves it. Especially with his jackass comment that started this whole thing. Polite to her rudeness? And really, he was a damn mod? That thread had been left alone after that comment. Did Tabatha scare Ava off with that comment? I don't know, but the mod's twisted logic on the situation sure scared me away. Why is it wrong to step in and defend someone? He couldn't even give me that. Seriously, if you don't know how to run a guild and keep its members at peace, why bother? It's no mystery to me why people are leaving that guild. Wow, this sounds so similar to a fight I went through back it in 2005. Back then, there was a popular guild I belonged to that had died. When I and a couple of others tried to revive it, the captainship got passed to two random strangers who never posted, as opposed to the four of us who were the most active members. No explanation, no nothing - and the two captains were really rude in responding to anyone - no people skills at all. I couldn't - and still can't - believe that they treated people that way!
Some people just aren't cut out to be mods; it's as simple as that. This person, Baron, was obviously one of them. As I was reading his posts, I was thinking, "It's too early in the morning to be confused!" He definitely doesn't make a lot of sense. I'll have to read it later today and see if... well, if it makes me shake my head less then. XD

Yeah. They've been going around banning people for no apparent reason that I can tell. And lately they've been crying about how slow the guild's been. stare
That guild changed ownership too, so that could be part of the reason. But I'm going to go ahead and say it's because they're jerks. >.<
