The day was fairly clear and sunny, though the slightly cold tinge to the air hinted at the coming of autumn. Mooncakes was a little slow, and found its newest employee engaging in a spirited debate with the only customer in there.
"No, no! Cheesecake is much better than pie, Chase!" The tall man crossed his arms, leaning back in the chair a bit. "Ha! Nothing can beat a good pumpkin pie, dearest sister." Okay...so light argument was more accurate. Bennu groaned and slumped on the counter, arms crossed, chin resting on them. "You're hopeless, you big lug." Chase chuckled and munched on his éclair, a grin on his face. "You know you love me." The blue-violet haired girl shook her head.
"Whatever. You realize you have to leave in an hour to get Nakia, right?" The platinum blond haired man nodded. "Yup! I remember well! She's turning into a kind of sweet kid...Still afraid of ninety-percent of the city's population though." A nod from the girl behind the counter. "Yeah..."

There was soon to be another customer...well...two actually, as a tall, rather dignified looking man with long red hair and a binding about his eyes walked in...his large hand encasing a smaller one, that of a small boy with oddly colored hair in two entirely different shades. The younger led the elder, and the boy was talking softly to his guardian...a low murmur, and the man nodded in agreement.
Hearing voices, the redhead looked up, "Hello..." He greeted softly, revealing that he possessed a low, pleasant voice, one that made him sound gentle...belying his imposing frame and stature.
The boy, on the other hand, smiled impishly as he walked up to the counter, still dragging the adult along behind him.

Bennu nearly startled and quickly fell into 'shop mode'. She smiled at the two males...more at the younger than the elder. "Hello! Welcome to Mooncakes Bakery. I'm Bennu. Is there something specific you're looking for?" Bennu's voice was cheerful, but far from loud or high-pitched...though the cheer was a little practiced to the trained ear. She knew having Chase in here would help! People in the shop meant customers, which meant more people in the shop, and more customers! And more customers meant a less finance-stressed Audley. Which was overall better for the shop and Bennu's chance at keeping the job.
And while Bennu was being the helpful employee, Chase found himself staring at the taller male that had walked in. The red-head was certainly good-looking...He quickly turned his attention back to his éclair as Bennu sent him a withering glare. She wasn't going to have a customer scared off by her 'brother's staring. She made a mental note to teach him how to keep his wandering eyes in check when she was working.
