The Vision of Escaflowne as it is also known as Escaflowne of the Heavens is a manga I shall never forget. I first stumbled upon this series through the anime that is in truth very different from the manga series. It wasn't till the end of the anime and when I bought the first volumne of the manga that I came to find out that the Escaflowne story has in fact two different set of stories two it. Both of which are completely different from one another that nearly makes comparison between the two and the anime very difficult.

I was completely blown away by the different texture of artwork that was put together for the manga. And the deep complex characters that was also put forth into it. The Vision of Escaflowne is more along the lines of the "boys" manga but any girl will also fall in love with this series. The "girl" manga is much harder to find and it is unfortunely much shorter only containing two volumnes while the "boys" has a grand total of eight.

Truthfully, I still wasn't all that fond of the Hitomi character in this series either and the one character I LOVED in the anime wasn't futured in the manga. That would be Van's older brother whom did unfortunely die in the anime. But, strangely enough I came to enjoy Van's character more in the manga series.
