Salam Alaykom

How are you all brothers and sisters ? I hope you're doing well in your life.

Well, this is my first post in this guild. I hope you accept me as a new friend biggrin

So, tonight or tommorow will be the first night of Ramadan in sha' Allah.
To non-muslims, specially those who don't know what it is, Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic Calendar. In this month, we fast from food from dawn to sunrise. This is one of the 5 pillars of Islam.

I hope we start our lives and do better in this month by Allah's will biggrin

ugh..
can someone give me a realiable chart with the times for fasting and ect?

my dad is gone for 2 weeks and I don't have a ride to the mosque to get one.

EEHH.
I didn't fast today because I turned out that I at breakfast a bit too late.

I'm gonna go ahead and eat at 4:30 tomorrow just to be sure.
xD

I wanted to google it at first but then I realized how base and evil things can be from the internet- I can't ever be too sure if the times are correct or not.

it'd be extra awesome if it's time zone was U.S. central.

xD

I didn't find a chart for breakfast time., but I'll try to help you with it. Just wait until sunset, the moment you don't see the light of the sun.

I live in IL and we broke our fast at 7:01 today. We actually waited a few minutes... but it said 7:01 on the sheet.

Sunrise on the East Coast is around 5 AM, sunset a bit after 7 PM. And I would not worry about missing a single day, remember it is the intent that is most important.

In regards to calendars there are some available online but they are usually downloadable programs. For example mine is a desktop icon that tells when it is Salat and shows the holidays as well. Is this acceptable or are you just looking at something you can do entirely online?

The prophet and sahabah, peace be upon them, did their fasting without salaat times, so I don't think you would have to worry either xD

But then again, they didn't have tons of buildings blocking the horizon, sooo.. sweatdrop

Well, it depends on the sunrise and the sunset. The calling for the prayer is a sign of that. So, almost everyone depends on them smile
