I'm having a tough time at school now, I hate my teachers and it makes school a lot harder cause I have NONE of my sister's teachers, and I've laways had her reputation to live off of, now i have to do it for myself. I've been coming home stressed without much homework and I waste my life on the computer. I'm having troubles with the scriptures and praying, so I think these are tied together, and I just can't get into the habit! What should I do?

In terms of what you should do for scriptures and prayer, there are alot of things that can be done. What I have done is that I never ever let myself go to sleep without reading my scriptures and praying - it's something that I promised myself at the end of my mission. I'll put some suggestions that can be more useful to you on here later, I need to get some sleep, and still need to study xd

Well, you shouldn't have to live off of your sister's rep. You are your own self, and should do things how you want to. Just have faith, and all will work out 3nodding

For studying the scriptures, I've gotten myself a journal and every night before bed I look up something in the topical guide. For example, lately I've been working on "Patience." I look up the scriptures listed under "Patience" until I find one that speaks to me. I write that down in my journal. I was never good at scripture studying before someone recommended that method to me. I've found it very helpful. There's more scripture study advice at this link.

Nephite Warrior Well, you shouldn't have to live off of your sister's rep. You are your own self, and should do things how you want to. Just have faith, and all will work out 3nodding *nod* so true. coming from a large family, I found older sibling's reps anoying. Just make your own path and don't worry too much about school. it's only for aq few years, then you're gone from it. As for scriptures, well, everyone has better advice than me on that. sweatdrop

Thanks, I'll put it all into action, and if it doesn't work I'll come back and ask. Now I say farewell from this thread and mushrooms.
