Raelan was never without a snippy response, particularly when Ix began to insist he lighten up a bit and not take life so seriously. If the wealthy little wizard hadn't taken things seriously he would still be in his parents mansion, wasting his time between boring homework, boring social events, and a boring life. Really, he was so much better than all that.
The blonde's mood softened slightly, not that it would be evident to anyone not familiar with his mannerisms since he didn't reveal it in his expression or tone of voice.
"Ix, you may keep your egg on my desk during the day if you wish. Although there is no place in this house safe from your explosions, I would like to think my room does not suffer the worst of it."

"I dunno, I bet someone could rig up some kinda flying device...thing...that holds you by the seat of your pants..."
Ix, scary enough, actually started to contemplate such a device. The green haired one looked rather thougtful for a moment before shaking away the idea. He had no wind affinity dragons afterall..it'd be hard to test.
"Why thank you Rae! We appreciate it!"
...And maybe when the little one hatched it'd snack on Rae's notes. Hehehehe.

"Heaven forbid you actually learn to fly..." Raelan muttered sourly. That sounded like an accident just waiting to happen, Ix flying around by the seat of his pants... Knowing the way Ix went about things he would probably be flying backwards. Surely the hypothetical flying device would be best left uncreated.
"It should be no trouble at all, I fully intend on locking away my notes and valuables for the duration of your dragon's stay. I doubt a fledgling dragon will be able to willfully destroy my things when they are located behind locks and bolts."

Ix grinned at the other wizard. If the green haired one ever acquired a wind dragon...things were bound to get dangerous. It'd be in everyone's best interest to keep such things away from him.
He couldn't help but sulk a bit at the idea of Raelan's things locked up. Really, what fun was it if everything was safely put away out of the dragon's reach? Though...that'd leave the dragon looking for something else to entertain itself. The situation still held the potential to be amusing.

Raelan raised an eyebrow.
"I doubt there is anywhere you could not get to on your own feet, it is safer to leave the flying to dragons with adequate traits. Stop sulking, Ix, it does not suit you well."
Really, Ix should have no reason to get grumpy whenever he mentioned locks on his valuables. Locks were a necessity with so many dragons around, particularly dragons that got into trouble. The little wizard had a sturdy, fireproof chest under his desk just for keeping his notes and artifacts safe, it had been shown to even resist his room mate's explosions.
With a sigh, Raelan went back to his readings. If Ix wanted to dream about flying machines, so be it. He wouldn't admit that his friend's reckless magic was perhaps the only reason all his recent studies had been devoted to Cure magic, not the Ice magic he had worked with during their schooling.
