Anyone hear about whats going on DevientART?

Jark was fired or force resigned(we don't know yet), the co-founder next to Matteo who left as well supporting Jark.

And on July 29 the fourms went ABLAZE with maddness... it has calmed down alot... but on DevientART's aniversery This 7th, Its JARK DAY... and people are planning to only submit yellow deviations...

One of the admins... Spyyed has released a VERY conterversial plan which personally really upsets me... I can't go into it right now because it is ALOT, and well I'm not sure if anyone here goes to devient art often ^^;. And Spyyed's plan is only PART of the story but a big future problem possibly. It is a big change. Putting people into groups. My god it is insaine!!! People rate eachother WITHIN the art group, and it will now be MUCH more profitable and it SEEMS like there will be less community.

Now there is another admin with another plan that sounds much more appealing upfront, but I can't really see how THAT will be put into work... he basically just says from what I've taken in that he wants to make devientart like a huge party in a small house where it is very easy to meet everyone.

Grouping.

Now from what I have gathered, everyone (in some way) Will be grouped according to what kind art they create(He hasn't addressed the thousands who do more than one type of art). In these groups people with the same type of art will rate each other's art and I assume these ratings will come into play somewhere...probably on the daily deviations and much more recognition.

This is another thing which I wonder... Spyyed said quality over quantity. I think possibly if someone doesn't do well enough over time, they will be taken out of the deviant art site and won't be able to submit art anymore, or atleast lose publishing rights.

This grouping is a way to organize the community and show off the BEST of the deviantART site. Yes at first glance this doesnt' sound bad. But if you look at it agian... and think that the site before was about sharing art with others and helping others improve with contructive critizism... it takes a whole nother turn into just a big advertisement, and less about community and sharing. It sounds like a big competition and way to make good money.(And I say good money because I can not imagine a reason why the co-founder Jark was taken away with all of the respect he got from the community)

Well since you have stuff uploaded I''d guess you would be put into phtography. But people with nothing uploaded... honestly I don''t know...I''d guess they would be removed... or they would impliment a guest posting sorta thing like on most fourms and other art sites.

And yes, some people have left. But one guy said he just ''revoked'' the agreement you need to sign to enter the site, which personally is kind of pointless because once you''ve signed it and you are on the site, its yours whether it has negitive affects or not, which it doesn''t. rolleyes

The whole thing sounds very bad.
I couldn't understand most of it because I have no clue what the site is, but from the posts, I gather it is an art posting site, so if only I knew about before it all imploded into an ugly mess of confusion.
