So. xD This is a thread concerning a potential 'Bandit Gang'. I've mentioned this idea before, but I'd like to push it out further, because I'm really interested in making something like this work. <3
What is it? Well, it's basically a Gang that invites youngsters of different species to group together and cause trouble. Picture juvenile delinquents and street gangs, SoA style.
What do they do? Everything and anything that will get them into trouble. This disorderly bunch live to defy adults, and practice things like thievery (their specialty - they're a 'Bandit Gang' after all), being 'tough', practicing their fighting skills and basically doing the usual 'street gang' stuff. Of course, I'm not talking about serious murders or anything like that - we're a group of children, here. However, minor offences can be seen as major in these kid's eyes - if you steal from an adult, or talk back to them, you're a legend. They talk tough, they walk tough, they act tough, they stay up past 7pm.
They're trouble-makers, the kind of kids that your parents told you to stay away from. And this little band of bad influences wants YOU.
This is not a pride idea! At the moment, it's more of an idea for an unofficial group or following.
It should be situated just near the Pridelands, or in the main savannah. Chirarah's family, actually, hasn't really settled down in a specific area, so the group is probably best to be situated in an area where most prides or packs can reach. Group members can, of course, belong to different prides. ;D If they can come to meetings every once in a while, and socialise with other trouble-makers in the Youngster Gang, then that's just dandy!

Simple, really. What the Gang thinks about most is Rebellion. They feel that they should live their lives as they want, and that they don't need parents to look over their shoulders as they grow up. These kids want to 'speak out' against the adults as rebels. They certainly are alike to your average High School Rebels, or the kids around the corner that steal your lunch money (though they're a touch more light-hearted than that ;D).
They don't like to be told what to do, and they want to live their lives their own way. The Gang also strives to one day have a reputation on the Savannah, but the group is only small, so it's highly unlikely that they'll gain much attention. xD
However, not all Bandit Gang members are limited to sharing these views only - after all, some members may adore their parents, but only want to get up to a bit of mischief. Mischief making and petty theft is something that is taught early on in the group. If you like your parents, but also like causing trouble, then there's no issue with joining up - as long as your parents don't become 'involved'.
This Gang isn't all Bad News, though. They look out for eachother, acting as 'brothers' and 'sisters' to eachother, and generally help eachother out. Everyone in the Gang is respected as an Expert Trouble Maker, and there are times when the whole crew just go out and have fun (although leader, Chirarah, can act a little snappy and cold at times, but that's just her personality xD).
This isn't a sinister gang, again... it's a gang where cubs can become bandits, and share views and ideas about the best way to make trouble. For some, it may actually be more of a way to have fun!
The Gang does not have a sole leader! It is run by different, dominant cubs and pups, all who are addressed as 'Bosses'. It's best if only the skilled trouble-makers or 'tough guys' regard themselves by this title. ;D Bosses are basically the top dogs, the big boys who run the joint and help teach the less educated about thievery and trouble-making.
Feel free to ask if your SoA can become a 'Boss'. x3 There should at least be three to five bosses to make things interesting. It's nothing that official, so if you have a SoA that's likely to question Chirarah's authority, chances are that they'll make a good Boss.

So, you think that you might have a kid up for a little bit of trouble? =D That's great! But, just for a moment, see if they fit certain requirements... the Bandit Gang don't take just anyone!
Bandits should be:
... kids, from little ones up to juveniles. Adolescants are a maybe. xD
Of course, as the gang grow up, they will become adults... and from there, we'll see if the gang will keep going, whether it eventually disbands or becomes more of a serious thieving group. But for now, this is a gang for youngsters and little trouble-makers only. x3 <3
... predator animals. Unless your klipspringer, hare or springbok is reallyreally tough, chances are that they might be picked off. xD;; These kids don't want to play nice, especially not to preybeasts. So, while every species is welcomed, it's best not to invite a delicious little preybeast in. However, you can talk to me about this. ;D If there's a realistic reason why the prey animal won't be eaten, then that's absolutely alright.
... willing to learn the ways of the pick-pocket! The nicer little cubs and pups won't be required to act tough or speak out against adults, but the requirement is that they should be able to prove themselves by being able to steal. Bandits are bandits, after all... so stealing and sharing the prize with the gang is encouraged. Of course, practical jokers are highly prized, too.

D: Uuh, well, we'll have to work that out. ;D But, basically, though it's not officially put into words, Chirarah will accept the members into the Gang by making them repeat a pledge after her at a little informal gathering. It should go along the lines of:
"I will learn to make mishief, and will train hard at becoming a bandit. I will think for myself, speak out for myself, and be able to stand up to anyone. I will support everyone in the Gang, and they will support me."
Yadda yadda yadda. ;D It's not set in stone yet. It will probably be a little more fun-sounding, though, since they're youngsters and think that adult speeches are boring (think more of a pledge, along the lines of a Fred and George Weasley style xD).
There's also the issue of a name!
You see, the gang won't exactly be called the 'Gang' or 'Bandit Gang' by official name. It needs a good name ( The NAME HERE Bandits, for example), a name which can be decided by all members. What I was thinking was that Chirarah, the leader , would hold an IC meeting with everyone to decide on a name (in her view, the name should be decided as a group by popular vote - after all, the Gang is not about one person, it is about all the kids supporting eachother).
So, if you have a SoA that wants to join ranks and become a mishief maker, it's optional that you could OOCly suggest a name for the gang. Then, after all OOC names are gathered, they could be added to a poll - and we could then start up a large IC roleplay, having each member suggest their ideas in character. Near the end of the roleplay (say, after a certain amount of posts or a time limit), the name with the most votes could become the official name. xD
I don't know if it would work, but it sounds quite fun. x3 And plus, the gang belongs to everyone... so everyone can send in their ideas (andKinistoolazytothinkofaname*shot*). XD This could also create a sense of 'forming the gang together', rather than just having Chirarah going around saying, "HEY WANNA JOIN MY GANG, THE LAH-DI-DAH BANDITS? =DD".

Just a little bit about the sheila running the joint, for those interested. <3
Chirarah decided to make a 'gang' after feeling fed up with being ignored. Being from a family of 15 is tough work, and so in a protest for attention and for a temporary escape, Chirarah decided to put her cold personality to work and maybe ask some others to start up a group dedicated to trouble-making.
Chirarah is a very rude, icy, and blunt little wild-dog pup, and she's an expert thief. She's not cruel at all, but she's certainly not the friendliest of types. However, she does apprechiate the value of working together and loyalty, and warms up to others in her own, strange little way.
She often speaks 'Tough Talk', using slang and lazy language to get her points across. She's quite strong and tomboyish, however, and is passionate about becoming a stronger leader, despite her anti-social temperment. In a way, Chirarah wishes to work with others around her age not only for a play and some company, but also so that she can discover a little more about socialising on her road to becoming a slightly more compassionate dog.
In the gang, however, Chirarah will probably see herself as the 'top dog' or 'leader' of the whole operation, but it would be great to have someone as strong-willed as her to try and take her on for the top spots. She needs some rivals - in her mind, they keep her toughened up, and rivals give her an excuse to pout. xD After all, there's no 'sole leader' to the gang - it is run by children, and by everyone, and so disputes about leadership can happen (think Lord of the Flies). Chirarah is up there as one of the founders, however, so she has a special right to question potential members about their loyalties, gets new members to repeat the 'oath' after her, and will often be one of the speakers to address everyone at occasional meetings. She'll often refer to herself as 'The Boss', but this is mostly a self-title, and there is no one sole leader of the gang.
Chirarah also hates being called 'Chirarah'. xD She much prefers 'Chira'. However, feel free to have you SoA call her Chirarah if they're brave or don't think twice about questioning her authority. <3 It's not that insulting, as they're only kids. ;D
Too, it'll give Chirarah something to whinge about. xD

She doesn't usually outright protest to anything. Think metal warfair. xD Would they see themselves as a 'Boss' like Chirarah, or just a normal member?: Tia doesn't lead, since it's not her style. But she probably would think of herself as better then others, though she'd never say it, of course. Reason for wanting to join: To have fun, mostly. xD Personality: Tia is a trickster. She takes special pleasure in causing trouble and loves the attention. The better she knows you and the more she cares about you the more she is going to mess with you. She loves to cause pranks, do exactly what you don't want her to, and poke at all your sensative spots in your ego. She would never do anything "really" harmful though. Comfortable with pick-pocketing?: At first, she hated the idea, but as she did it more and more, she started to get the just of it, and became comfortable with it.
Are they unsure of anything?: Sorta. Sometimes she thinks if she made the right choice, but when she did think about that stuff, she'd try her hardest to think of something else
How do you think they'd react to 'Boss Chira'?: Kimya would probably stammer a lot when speaking to Chira because that's the way she is xD
Would they see themselves as a 'Boss' like Chirarah, or just a normal member?: Like a normal member. Leading isn’t her style, especially of the Youth Bandit Gang.
Reason for wanting to join: Wanting to belong. Her timid personality doesn’t get her any friends, so she was hoping that this gang would make her somewhat popular.
Personality: Kimya is timid, and isn’t sure of anything she does. Most of the time, her choices aren’t the wisest, and she always gets herself into unwanted situations. She often takes naps, being the lazy little pup she is.
How long (estimated) they'd be in the gang: Probably until she finds a mate.
Anything else on your SoA: Nope

As he gets older and bigger then he would probably act more tough! He is a rather closed lion so doesn't let anyone really know very much about him. He loves a challenge and working out different problems. He likes to play his own trick every now and then too! Any skills that stand out?: Being the leader's brother? ;D *SHOT* He can be pretty sneaky when he wants to be, both physically and verbally.
Would they be the type to act 'tough', or just play practical jokes?: Tough! Well... he'd totally play practical jokes, but he's a troublemaker and enjoys it. I think he'd start out more 'innocent' and then as a juvenile start getting tougher.
Comfortable with pick-pocketing?: Of course!
Are they unsure of anything?: Nope, he's pretty confident and self-assured (too much so, really)
How do you think they'd react to 'Boss Chira'?: Pretty casually, since he's used to her. xD I'm sure he'd call her Chirarah a lot to annoy her, though.
Would they see themselves as a 'Boss' like Chirarah, or just a normal member?: He'd be a normal member, but I think he'd fancy himself more important than most, given the relationship between him and The Boss. ;D Delusions of grandeur and all of that!
Reason for wanting to join: Two reasons: Kade needs a plot, annnnd I like this plot. xD His reasons? He'd happily follow his sister, and this kind of thing is perfect for a troublemaker.
Personality: Kade is... not particularly reliable, unless you're really on his good side. He's not evil or even mean, per se, but he works on his own terms and does things for his own benefit. The pup enjoys playing tricks on others and generally causing trouble, just for a laugh.
How long (estimated) they'd be in the gang: As long as it's around! biggrin Kade would dedicate himself to it.
