Masaru Masaru was exploring as usual the ocean grounds. He had been intertested in treasure collecting ever since meeting the two beautiful mermalades.. Ah. He began to drift off, daydreaming as he searched. He didn't even notice the ocean's light, as it changed from dark to light, and suddenly.. Up there; he could see a marvelous pink color. He swam towards the light in the ocean which seemed to be giving a pink aura. What could it be..? Meriel Meriel hummed softly to herself, occasionally singing in a soft, lilting tone of voice. She giggled to herself in between when she found something amusing, but she contented herself with arranging and combing her hair. She always enjoyed lounging in this lagoon, when the sun rose across the waters, the lagoon came to life. The rocks that seemed to hug and envelope the little area seemed to rise and greet the new day. Even the moss on those rocks sparkled a friendly hello as the sun's rays stretched, reaching over to caress the plant life. Meriel smiled as she would pluck a tiny flower from other nearby residents of the lagoon and place them in her hair, when she was interrupted by a break in the surface of the water. Masaru Masaru brushed his hair back as he came closer to the pink-lighted water. "What is this?" He asked aloud, talking to himself. "Beautiful.." he murmured, becoming enchanted. At first he didn't even notice the other mermalade that had come. He was afraid to swim into the beautiful water; afraid to touch what seemed to be untouched. Then he noticed Meriel and swam over towards her. "Meriel!" He said, smiling a big, bright smile. "How are you?" He smiled, resting his hands on the sides of his torso. He turned towards the water. "Isn't it strange? I mean, it looks almost... pink!" Meriel Meriel giggled happily and placed a stray flower in his hair, lightly touching his shoulders as she did so. "Hello, Masaru, my old friend." She beamed brightly, watching the effect of the flower against his hair and darker features. "The water is always this color at sunrise." Her smile was wistful and dreamy, but her eyes showed mirth and mischief, as she extended a hand to the early morning sun. Masaru Masaru blinked. The sun did this? How could he have not noticed it before? Strange.. He pondered on the thought. He was thinking so much he hardly noticed the flower in his hair. He looked at her extending arms. "So it's okay to touch it? I mean... the water? It looks so.. so.. untouched. So tranquil. It's..beautiful." He said, his breath shortening. For some reason, it made him get a nostalgic kind of feeling. He put his hand under his chin and thought, looking down at the ocean ground, his brown eyes dark with thought. Meriel Meriel giggled softly as her hands closed around his, cupping them together and leading him to the water. Her eyes glittered like jewels as the light reflected from the water. "Perfectly safe. Isn't it beautiful?" She stared out over the sparkling water, "It's always so sparkly this time of day. It's my favorite time to be on the surface... " Masaru Masaru gasped as he was led out into the pink water. "W-wow!" He said, a little afraid at first. It was breathtaking, truly. "It's so beautiful.." He trailed off, his hand leaving hers to wander in the pink water. "I've never noticed this before. It's so.. so.." He reached up to touch his hair. "H-hey! What's this doing here?!" He said, cupping the flower and looking at it. He was silent for a moment and then laughed. "Ahah, so, did it look good on me?" He chuckled, swimming a bit in the pink water. "I feel so free! This is definitely my favorite spot.. But, it does seem the water is getting less and less pink.." He said in a tone with a hint of confusion. Meriel Meriel giggled in delight as she watched his expression. She smiled, eyes gleaming as he found his flower. Her hands raised in a delicate pose, then wrapped around his head, picking up the flower in one deft motion, she placed it back in his hair. "It looks lovely. It is luminescent against your features in this light." Her eyes twinkled with joy as she let her hands fall from him, half caressing his hair and skin as they drifted back into the water by her side. "Less pink?" she asked curiously as she turned, the sun was quite noticeably higher. "Ah, the new day is officially here my friend. The colors will have hidden away until later tonight, when they burn like liquid gold in the setting sun." She winked at him then slipped back into the water in a graceful, flirty dive, flicking her tail at him as she disappeared under the water. Masaru Masaru smiled as she went below the surface again. He just stood there, looking up at the sun. "I've never seen anything like it before. I've never been above the water.. I wonder? Is everyone as enchanted as I am? It seems to me like some rare thing.. " He reached up to touch the flower in his hair. "Meriel.." His thoughts drifted off once again he said good-bye to the sun and he returned to beneath the surface. Meriel Meriel smiled and waved to Masaru as he came back under the water, the flowers in her hair had drifted and spread out back to the surface. She swam over to Masaru and bid him look around. "The sun hasn't quite touched underneath here.... the soft purples and pinks have come deeper into the water now." She beamed at him as she watched the translucent glow of purple and pink surround them as above on the surface the light became harsher, tinged with more oranges and reds. Masaru Masaru was still enchanted by the wonderous thing called 'sun.' "Does this happen every day? The sun..it makes those colors?" Masaru watched the flowers floated up towards the top of the ocean. His own flower had come loose and now began to wander with them. "I love this thing..called the sun. It's beautiful.." He grinned. "But that is not the only beautiful thing. " He laughed flirtatiously.
