Says:

BUY A SOUNDTRACK!!

Seriously...look through the soundtrack section and buy one...like, if you've been obsessed with a show, like, Grey's Anatomy ( whee ) for instance, User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
and you think alot to yourself "OMG what is that music?!"
just go out, buy the soundtrack and BOOM!! I whol bunch of songs, by different artists, that you might LOVE! then all you gotta do is search that artist on YouTube or MySpace or whatever, and you may just find yourself some kick-a** music.

I did that the otehr day...bought Volume 2 of the Grey's Anatomy original soundtrack (couldn't find volume 1) and, i'd heard 3 of the songs, and 9 out of the other 12 i totally fell in love with...

So, give it a go ^^

I just use iTunes , youtube, and surf through people's profiles to find music. Haha. You never know what you'll find.

Movie soundtracks are great for finding music as well. That's how I've found a lot of good bands like Superchick, Lustra, etc.

The radio helps a lot too. I can even tell you how many bands I've found through the radio. All you have to do is if you can't remember the name just memorize like a line of the song then type it into google and you've got the song name and artist. C: That's how I find most of my music.

Yeh, it really works! That's how I got into Echo & The Bunnymen and Duran Duran--from the Donnie Darko soundtrack!
Also, there's a site called Pandora where you put in a band you like and it plays songs from bands with similar sounds. It's really great!
