Ooh! Ooh! I found some cool stuff! not really theories, but better!

Confirmations of speculations!!

Course, these are spoilers, so I'll white them out! ^^

Quoted from Greenifyme's Journal, highlight to read!:

For those of you who listen to our podcast, you heard our predictions that we will finally get to see Katara's mom in an upcoming episode (we believe "The Southern Raiders"). Well it turns out that this is true! We will finally see Katara's mother in an upcoming episode and learn more about her. Dongbufeng.net just posted this spoiler.

ALSO...we will see Iroh again in 317, "The Ember Island Players." Dongbufeng said that he will be traveling to Ember Island with a "buddy." Hmmmm.....

hmm, A buddy, eh?
wink

OMG! Iroh! Buddy! Totally Ursa! *spazzes*

Okay, I'm more excited than I thought possible now. Where are our new episodes?!

Randon thought that occured to me the other day:

What if Iroh's 'buddy' isn't Ursa or a White Lotus Member? I was thinking about the trailer, and I got the idea that maybe it's Jun. I mean, he did seem pretty fond of her, and her skills might have some use to the gaang's mission (dunno know how, though), so maybe?

I dunno. I mostly just want to see her tease Zuko about Katara being his girlfriend again. xD

Oh! I totally did not think about that!
surprised

Yes, he does seem rather fond of her....((Ursroh is still my OTP, though...grumble grumble))...But you can BET however she's reintroduced that she'll bring up "Zuko's girlfriend" again!! OMG, it's going to be hilarious!!
rofl

You know, about Jun, theres also speculation that I've heard that maybe she has something to do with the Southern Raiders...Like, old ties...but she wasn't a part of them when they attacked the South Pole(cause REally, Jun's too cool for that) I dunno, I heard that and maybe that's kind of how we're led into the plot for Southern Raiders? ack, I have no idea. I just can't wait to see her though!!

It is going to be great to see her again, if she makes a comment about Zuko and Katara and we see them look at each other and then shout how, "supposedly wrong" she is, I'll just laugh.

Okay, now I pointed this out to Katessa just earlier today. Katara is always the one to open up the Avatar episodes with, her now widely known quote of; "Water,Earth,Fire,Air. Long ago the four nations lived together in harmony. Then everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. A hundred years passed and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar, an air bender, named Aang. And although his air bending skills are great, he has alot to go before he is ready to save anyone."

It was Zuko who gave the Opening Narration at the Comic Con panel, right? Why do this, instead of it being Aang saying; "But I'm scared to face the Fire Lord, but if I don't defeat him, there won't be a world for me to save."

Oh!! Pick me! I know the answer! *waves frantically around*

I've actually analyzed that in my WIP essay that I'll eventually have on DA.

Basically, it's Zuko to show a couple of things:

Obviously, that Zuko understands Aang as his teacher and as his friend. He knows and senses that there is something holding Aang back. He knows he's scared(who wouldn't be, right?)

But the key is, that Zuko doesn't know WHAT is holding Aang back. however, WE as the AUDIENCE know what's holding him back, and that is KATARA. We can see Aangs struggle, we can hear Zuko's saying this, and we can put two and two together.

Not only that, but Zuko paints a vivid picture of what will happen if Aang FAILS. That's something Pathik didn't even do. I mean, he stressed the importance, but did he really go and say, "Do it, or the world will END"?

It's Zuko saying as a way to really STRESS the point of letting go, again. I mean, that quote is really another point to the Zutarian cause. If it were Aang...that would then mean that he is beginning to come to grips. But the fact that ZUKO tells him this, is that ANOTHER PERSON IS TELLING HIM TO DO WHAT PATHIK SAID TO DO. Zuko may not be directly telling him that he needs to let go, because he has no idea about all of that AS stuff...But he's still saying it, and that is what is important.

He doesn't KNOW what Aang has to do to get his rear in gear, but here he's essentially telling him TO DO IT. BEFORE THE WORLD IS DESTROYED.

Zuko may not know it yet, but he's a closet Zutarian. This quote proves it.
cool

Katara's narration is there to outline the story, and depicts her feelings towards Aang.

"But I believe, Aang can save the world."

She sees him as a world hero, a hope that the world has been waiting for.

Now Zuko, his almost-father figure, is telling him what he NEEDS to do to save the world.

I guess if anything, the fact that it's Zuko and Katara doing this is to create that sort of unity that they have in their goals for the world.

Also, if it were Katara telling him this in the trailer, it would give away the ending for KAtaang, I'm guessing. ^^

OMG, Teh_Sheba, have I ever told you how absolutely BRILLIANT you are at figuring Zuko's emotions? *hug* ^_^
Zuko = closet ZUtarian rofl

I always thought Zuko was to represent an "older brother" bond to Aang, but I guess since Katara is considered "motherly", Zuko being the daddy makes sense...lol....

I think Zuko needed to be the one to say it, just to show how much his character has developed since when we first met him during his exile. Before, Zuko didn't care what would happen to the Avatar once he turned him over to Ozai. He didn't stop to think that if the Avatar were killed and the war not stopped that everything could be destroyed. After going through his own journey, Zuko has come to appreciate what the Avatar means to everyone (and I think it had something to do with a certain teary-eyed confession).

To show that he now holds empathy shows how much Zuko has changed, and how now he can finaly pass on some of his own wisdom onto someone else. Iroh's wisdom to Aang about choosing love over power was nice, but I think that Iroh said that because of how he had lost Lu Ten over a battle for power. Ba Sing Se symbolized a very powerful victory for the Fire Nation and no battle was worth the loss that Iroh suffered. Its why he said what he said to Aang.

But Zuko is different. He now wants the war to end just as much as Katara does. He even tells his father they need to bring peace and balance back to the world. I agree that Zuko knows something is holding Aang back, but that he doesn't really know. Zuko probably thinks that Aang is just scared, he is a kid after all (which he probably is...but at the same time we (audiance) know the real problem).

Zuko probably just took a stab (again) at giving advice, only this time drawing from his own experiences to convey his message across.
It takes a powerful person to tell the truth to a kid in such a way. 3nodding

Hehe, yeah. I mostly like the idea of Jun returning because of the possibility of Zuko and Katara being teased. xD

Jun: So, you got you're girlfriend back, huh?
Zuko: *reddens* Wha-? No! She's not my girlfriend!
Toph: I can tell you're lying~!

Errr, yeah. Anyway. xD

Ooh, that'd be really interesting, too! I never thought of her being connected to the raid... Maybe Zuko and Katara go to her because of her tracking skills, hoping she can find the murderer of Katara's mom and/or Ursa? *plots*

u know if u go to utube u can watch this vid of zutara proof.
here is the link
http://youtube.com/watch?v=bDP4WAutXKk
i know that zutara will happen because in the season 3 finale trailor they show aang TRY to kiss katara but she pulls away and then in another part of it she gives zucko a throws in arms, i love u kind of hug not just a friendly little hug. With the dragons they r blue and red and at one point make a heart shape when they fly. theyr flames r also red(fire), blue(water), and white(steam) at this one point. well those r the only spoilers 4 zutara ull get out of me right now. watch the video and the ones after it. okay ill give one more reason. in the cross roads of destiny they show katara look back sadly as she laeft the catacombs. if she didnt like him why did she look back sadly at her "enemy"? Kataangs would say that she felt bad because she was worried for aang or something. i know it doesnt make sence but then kataang doesnt either and besides kataang is ***** because aang is (not counting the time in the iceburg) 12 years old and she is what like 15? 3 yrs difference.

oh, a remark on the previous conversation about zuko's role towards aang (whether big bro or father figure).

TFBM aang uses that phrase "monkey feathers" or something similar.

its always bugged me until now.

think about it he never "swore" before in the series, but he did in front of zuko....

that's the kind of thing little kids do to impress bigger kids.

this has pretty much nothing to do with zutara, but i thought i'd throw in my two cents about it. *shrug*

Ooh, interesting. I never thought of it like that, but yeah, it is kinda like a little kid trying to impress someone older. Maybe it's a sign that Aang is still just an immature little kid?

that is an idea... i like it!!!!!!!! aang is still kinda immature but in a different way from the beginning of the series. now he anly has eyes for katara but it might be because that is the first girl he met and knows her best. ever thnk of that?
