Name: Nantauri
Stage: Adult
Personality: Skittish and uncertain, he's had so little contact with other wolves that he finds it difficult, at best, to interact with them. (more TBA, hopefully >.>)

Vashtya
It had been far too long since Nantauri had been on familiar ground, and in the time he'd been gone, he'd gotten more lanky. However, it had also imbued the nervous wolf with a sense of confidence...until he came across others of his kind, that is. Slinking to the river's edge, Nan's eyes scanned the treeline cautiously, as he no longer knew where one pack's land ended, and where another's began. Reaching the shoreline, the tri-colored wolf dipped his slender nose into the water, reveling in its coolness.

It lacked the muddy, thick consistency that he'd become accustomed to, and it was enough to leave the scruffy individual feelind downright refreshed. So refreshed, in fact, that he dropped his skittish guard, even if only for a few moments, as he stepped farther into the water, allowing it to lap over the tops of his paws.

Ogre
Li had been dozing in a clump of high grass, nose tucked in the 'pillow' of vegetation he'd bunched together after rolling around in it. The sun was out, and beaming down on him just enough to produce a haze of sleep.

The hum of bugs and the sound of water was lulling him in his nap. As his eyes began to drift closed he caught the scent of something new in the air. Another wolf perhaps? He lifted his head slightly, sharp eyes scanning the grounds through the grass. The stream was a few feet away, and moving into the water was the figure of another wolf. Curious, Li rolled over and pushed himself up, slinking stealthly through the grass and to the stream. Once he reached the bank, he flopped back down, watching the other wolf curiously as he moved through the water.

"... that looks cold," Li whispered, ears standing on end as he listened for other possible wolves. Not many traveled alone like he did.

Vashtya
Sidestepping rapidly, Nantauri barely caught himself in time to prevent a nose-first plunge into the river mud. Lowering his body slightly, Nantauri stared up at the reclining wolf. Was he part of a pack? or a lone wolf like himself? The latter option seemed unlikely, which had Nantauri wondering whether he was going to have to worry about an entire pack of wolves running him off of their territory. "N-not really." he half-stammered, his voice gravelly from lack of use.

Ogre
Li tilted his head, ears flicking. The wolf across from him was far to meek to be a pack runner... or, if he was- he was a very low ranking one. His lip curled slightly, snapping at a bug that skipped infront of his nose.

"Are you with a pack?" Li shifted up, slinking slowly to the waters edge and taking a drink. His eyes scanned the stream grounds, before returning to Nan.

Vashtya
Taking a step back, Nantauri was careful to keep a fair bit of ground between himself and the other wolf. "No. I...I walk alone." he replied, if tentatively, his dark eyes darting warily to and fro. "What about you?" just because no other wolves had made themselves apparent-the loner couldn't even hear or smell any other wolves nearby-didn't mean they weren't there, after all.

Ogre
"Likewise," Li finished drinking, sitting down onto the edge of the bank with his tail curled around himself. He was still leaning forward slightly from the drink, cracking a wolf-grin. "It's not always safe to walk around here alone.. I've seen a few packs looming around this stream."

Vashtya
Nantauri blinked, nodding slightly. "It never is." he replied, although he was a bit surprised to hear that the other had no pack, either. Social skills were not his strong point. Shifting from paw to paw, Nantauri continued to eye Li with caution. "I'm Nantauri." he finally said, before curiosity got the better of him. "And you?"

Ogre
Li snorted, dipping his head to run a paw over his nose idly. "I'm not going to eat you, you can come out of there." He stood, backing up to give the other wolf distance and room to come out of the water should he wish. He parked himself where the grass started to grow again. "Your far to skinny to be worth the effort of killing you and trying to find the goodbits afterwards-"

"Oh, my name is Lifai."

Vashtya
Wrinkling his nose slightly at the other's mocking tone, Nantauri slunk out of the water, looking perplexed. Forcing himself to sit back on his haunches a few paces away from Lifai-something in the other's tone had pricked his sense of pride-Nan remained tense, although he did his best not to show it.

"...Oh. I see."

Silence fell as Nantauri had to concentrate on not shifting nervously from foot to foot-what did others talk about after initial introductions were out of the way? he wondered, hunching his shoulders.

Ogre
"What were you doing out in the stream?" Li nodded back towards the water. "Fishing?"

He was hungry. If his new 'friend' was a good fisher, maybe he could get something out of this encounter aside from a giggle or two.

Vashtya
Darting a glance back at the cool water he'd so recently vacated, Nantauri shook his head. "No...I was just getting a drink, actually. Although if I don't find anything small enough to hunt soon, it may come to that." he replied. Hell, he was far from picky with food, and it wouldn't be the first time he'd had to wade knee-deep into a stream to pick off a fish or two to fill his empty belly.

Ogre
Li sniffed, coming to his feet and shaking off his coat. "I have an idea. Want to help?" He walked an invisable line around Nan, keeping distance from him but moving closer than he'd been to begin with. "If we work together, we can catch enough fish to satisfy both our meals."

And, you can do all the work... and I'll get to eat for nothing! ^___^ heart

Vashtya
Nantauri swung his head around, desperate to keep the other within his range of sight. Heck, it was everything he could do to not go skittering off into the underbrush. "M-maybe?" he replied, ears twitching back and forth.

If he's for real...there's safety in numbers, I suppose...

Ogre
"Maybe? Are you hungry or not?" Li slipped into the water, moving along the shallow part where the water came up to his stomach. "You get in and stand down there.. I'll scare them towards you- and you can catch them and toss em onto the bank."

Vashtya
Tilting his head slightly to the side as if thinking about it, Nantauri finally nodded once, getting to his feet and trotting farther down the bank before padding lightly into the water, his paws making scarcely a splash as he made his way to the middle of the stream, a small, pleased sigh escaping him as the water lapped at his chest.

Ogre

Li waited until Nan had moved into position, then began snaking his way into the deeper parts of the stream. His eyes followed the streaks of fish moving around, moving carefully to circle them towards Nan's direction. Pleased with the amount of fish he saw, he leapt up and came crashing down into the water sending the fish scattering towards the other wolf. Li leapt after them, scaring everything in the water towards his waiting companion.

"Here they come~"

Vashtya
Nantauri tensed, every sinew in his body ready and waiting for his prey--all of his awkwardness was gone as he focused wholeheartedly on the task at hand. As a silvery shape darted towards his slim, pale legs, Nantauri shoved his muzzle underwater, pleased to feel the solid flesh of a fish between his powerful jaws. Tossing his head, Nan flung the fish onto the shore, where, after a few moments, it stopped moving.

Without hesitation, the tri-colored wolf plunged his head back into the water, a small growl emerging from his throat as, this time, he missed. Narrowing his eyes, he tried again, coming up with another fish. Overall, by the time the herded fish had re-dispersed, 7 plump fish lay gasping on the banks, and Nantauri's tongue was lolling out of his mouth, offsetting his rather pleased expression surprisingly well.
