Edward laughed, "Don't ask me, I don't understand it very well myself." He then grinned and shrugged, "Yeah.. I guess it does. I don't know if it was coinsidence that we both ended up here... but here we are."

Sighing, he thought for a moment before sneering. "That b*****d Mustang is here too, and he's even more of a jerk than before!" Paws folded across his chest as Ed sat on his hindlegs. "Not to mention there's two homunculi here as well, Envy and Lust. You won't believe it.. but Envy actually had kids here. I think that weirds me out more than anything."

"Oh, no. It's no co-incidence that we're both here together now, brother." Alphonse began, his voice confident and serious. "I meant to do what I did." He furrowed his eyebrows in determination. "And I would risk it again if it meant ending up here beside you." A small wag of his tails.

"General Mustang is here, too?" Alphonse found that information quite interesting. He had to smile at his brother's distaste to that particular character. "I'd like to pay him a visit sometime, maybe he can give us some more insight into what happened - how you got here, how he got here, and why you ended up in an egg." That part confused the young alchemist the most. He had ended up fully grown on this side. Why would his brother end up being reborn?

"There's Homunculi here too, huh?" He sighed. "I guess that confirms that nice young girl's claims that our mother is coming here." He became quiet again, ears drooping. ""I really don't know how she knew I was coming... I don't think she even knew anything about the Gate, so how could she know?"

"Speaking of that..." He glanced towards the doorway. "I'd still like to know which side of the Gate this really is. Can we go outside? There's something I'd like to make sure of."

A smile was given to Alphonse and his dedication. He was glad to see his brother, there was no denying that. Edward blinked at his brother's desire to speak to Roy, "Heh... whatever for? He doesn't know anything." He then grew serious, brows furrowing in muted anger, "He's not worth speaking to. Like I said.. he's even more of a jerk than before."

His ears also tilted back at the subject of their mother, "We don't know that for sure Al..." although she did predict Al's coming. "There's this one Kitsusagi... Kitsyn I think her name was. She can see thigns like that, apparently. Heh! I'm not entirely sure I believe it. Could have just been a lucky guess, you know?"

"Huh? Outside? Sure..." And with that, Edward got to his paws and led Al back the way he'd come. Out front of the Realm HQ building.

"Are you sure the General doesn't know anything?" Alphonse frowned. "If you're sure, then... alright. Maybe I'll go visit him another time, then. I don't even know where he is. But for now, I'd rather stay with you."

The young civilian alchemist followed behind his older brother, attention on his automail limbs as they headed outside. He sighed at them and shook his head - even after all this time, even after all they'd been through, things STILL weren't right again, it seemed. And now, he'd only thrown a wrench into the works by becoming one of these strange foreign animals himself. It had been worth it, though...

He stared at the floorboards as he recalled a memory before his brother had become a State Alchemist - he said he would become one himself and get his brother's limbs back to normal. Ed had refused at the time - the higher priority to him was getting Al's body back to normal. But now that was the case, now that he was flesh and blood again, would Ed consent to finding a way to have his limbs returned to normal?

As he walked out the door and onto the grassed area, he raised his head, voicing his curiousity.

"Brother, if you could gain your original limbs back again, would you?" He sat on the grass, sniffing the dirt curiously for a moment, and now the cogs in his head were turning. "I'm sure we could find a way."

"This Kitsyn person sees the future?" He blinked. "Like a fortune teller?"

He began to paw at the ground, pulling some of the dirt up. He was making his paw-gloves filthy now, but he didn't seem to care. The dirt had a strange, yet familiar smell about it, and he was beginning to wonder...

Without another word or any warning, Alphonse clapped his paws together, forming a transmutation ring with his arms. He slapped the ground hard, transmuting the ferrous oxide components in the dirt to form a statue of a deer, composed entirely out of iron. He sat on his back legs again once done, dusting his gloves off.

"Ah good, so we can perform Alchemy here." The young male was grinning from ear to ear, seeming particularly proud of himself. "I was told we could do it, but I wanted to see it for myself."

Ed bristled just a little, "Stay away from him Al! He's nothing but a low life b*****d!" Ears going back as he immediately regretted snapping. He sighed and frowned, "Sorry..." he muttered, not wanting to upset his brother with his own personal issues with Mustang.

An ear then flicked at the question about his limbs. Edward being silent as they stepped outside, before finally answering. "You know I'd like to be normal again Al, but its still human transmutation... or close to it anyway. You're in the flesh again, and that's good enough for me." After all.. what might happen if they tried to restore his limbs? They didn't have a philosopher's stone.. and they learned that even the stone had equivalency.

"Not really see the future.. I'm not sure what you call it.. but she can find Kitsusagi in this world... or knows if they're coming or not."

When Al made his transmutation, Edward simply watched silently. "You've gotten better" he complimented, looking over the statue. Although the circles on Al's gloves didn't go unnoticed by Ed's observant eye.

Alphonse didn't seem fazed in the slightest as Edward lost his temper. He was more than used to it, and this time it made him smile. He had actually missed his brother's voice, whether he was yelling or not.

"You're right," He said as the smile ran away from his face again. "But I don't like the idea of you being stuck with automail limbs forever. They're painful to re-attach, and I don't like seeing you suffer."

The youth stood tall on his hinds, as if he was a bipedal creature. "You think I would bad at alchemy by now, brother?" He mused. "I would have thought after being here so long, you would have lost your touch or something." He turned his paws over, showing his brother the transmutation circles on the palm-sides of his gloves. "It's nothing special really."

He stumbled in his attempt to keep balance, flopping onto his side a moment later. It seemed that these Kitsusagi things didn't normally stand upright like that.

"Did the Kitsyn person tell you if..." He paused, hesitant. "Did she tell you if Winry was coming or not?"

He sighed, "I don't like that idea either, Al... but I like the idea of making things even worse, less." Edward seemed willing to just call Al's return to a flesh and blood body and leave it at that. They didn't need to tempt fate any more than they already had.

Edward laughed, "Are you kidding?" He still used alchemy thank you very much! And to prove that, Edward clapped his paws together and made a transmutation similar to Al's... but of course he had to outdo it. Another iron statue... but this one with more considerable detail. It was a dragon, with even the smallest of scales lining its form. "What do you say to that?" he asked with a grin, before looking at the circles on Al's gloves. "Yeah, I saw them" he said in acknowledgement, "But that doesn't mean you haven't improved."

A pause at the question about Winry, "Yeah.. actually... she said she was. But you know.. that doesn't mean anything. She could be wrong, who knows." Truthfully.. part of Edward wanted Winry to be here.. yet he didn't want her to go through what they had.

Alphonse sat back on his hinds for a moment to properly examine his brother's transmutation attempt. A small laugh escaped him and he moved forwards to admire the iron statue, seeming rather impressed.

"Wow, brother!" He said as he paced around the statue, nodding his head in approval. "That's really good! You really think I've improved?" He stopped again, grinning, not quite sure how to take the compliment. "Thank you, but... I still can't do it without the transmutation circles. I don't know if I'm good enough to become a State Alchemist. In the end, I never bothered taking the exam - you never wanted me to, and I got by fine without it. In the end I just registered myself as a Civilian Alchemist." He lowered his paws again. "I guess that doesn't matter now, though."

"The Kitsyn person did say Winry was coming, then?" He pondered that in his mind for a few moments, unsure of how he felt there. He wanted to see her again also, but he didn't want her to get stuck here. He had to admit though, it WOULD be nice to see the girl again. And it would make things easier on Edward and his automail maintenance...

"So it seems like we're stuck here like this, huh, brother." He sounded mildly dissapointed. "It's going to take a lot of getting used to, being like this." He glanced back at his gold-flecked wings as he further pondered the situation. "At least there's an upside to all of this - we can't get into trouble for human transmutation any more. So maybe we could find a way to return your limbs to normal afterall, without any fear of consequences."

Edward smiled at his brother reassuringly, "Transmuting without circles has nothing to do with talent Al... I just paid the price, you should know that." He chuckled and shrugged, "You wouldn't like being a State Alchemist anyway. People telling you what to do all the time and keeping you on a leash... it wasn't that great." Infact, he had hated it... the only reason he really stayed in the Military was because it gave them access to resources they otherwise wouldn't have had.

As far as them being stuck here, Edward nodded, "I'm afraid so" he said with a sigh. "But don't worry... its not so bad, you'll get use to it." Although his brows furrowed as Alphonse kept on with the idea of getting his limbs back. "Just because its not forbidden here, doesn't mean we won't have to pay a price. Just forget about it Al, its not worth it."

Getting to his paws, Ed then stretched. "So how about some food? I bet you're starving... I know I am." His mouth widening into his impish grin. "Ginny makes an awesome stew, almost as good as mom's! Maybe I can convince her to make some."

Alphonse slowly nodded in response. "There wasn't really any gain in becoming a State Alchemist anyway, brother." He rose up to sit on his hinds. "I wouldn't have gained any new information. Nobody knew where you were, and no silly books could tell me that either."

He lowered his head at the prospects of not being able to go back. "I'm not sure if I want to get used to being stuck here like this, brother. What about everybody back where we came from? What about Winry? She misses you, and she's going to miss me too now." He paused, turning his attention away. Apart from Winry, who would he miss? Nobody really, now that he thought more about it. Edward was his only real family, and he wanted to be beside him wherever possible. "Are... are you used to it here, brother? Was it easy?"

He licked his lips at the thought of food. "Mmm!" He nodded enthusastically. "Now that you mention it, I'm really hungry! Is this 'Ginny' person nice though? Are you sure she wouldn't mind us intruding on her place just to eat some stew?" He was silent again for a moment. "R-really? It's as good as the one mom used to make?" He moved forwards, reaching out to grab onto one of Ed's paws. "We should go!"

Golden eyes turned downward at the thought of Winry. He missed her too, really... and nobody here could make automail as well as she. "Well... since I was born here, it was a lot easier I think. I gained my memories back over time, and so I was already adjusted. But I missed you the most. Besides... even if we found a way to go back... I don't think I could leave the Kitsusagi I care about... especially Lilianna."

He then laughed, "She won't mind! Lilianna lives there as well, with her huge family and I'm sure they'd like to meet you!" The blonde alchemist grinning as his brother grabbed his paw in hunger induced anticipation. "Alright, come on!" With that, Edward turned and started to run in the direction of Trelweny's house. It would take them awhile to get there on foot, but he knew where to go.

Alphonse took off after his brother, at first trying to run on his hind paws like he had when he was bipedal, and human. That did not last long - the dirty-blonde haired youth promptly toppled onto his stomach with a loud "Oouf!" and got up again, brushing the dirt off his bright red coat.

"I'd like to meet this Liliana person properly," He called out to his brother as he ran off to catch up, running on all fours now. It was strange to the human side of his mind, but to the Kitsusagi it was second-nature. "I'd like to learn what kind of person she is." He grinned. "You seem pretty interested in her, brother. She must be awfully nice."

And with that, the youth ran off after his brother, headed towards the new destination ahead.
