Valefor had known very well the type that Aear was when she entered the relationship; she'd thought it would keep the two of them from going beyond being... well... friends with benefits. But still things had gone so much farther... for both of them. Aear wasn't the same ladies' kitsu he'd been. But that was neither here nor there... She had a feeling, perhaps, that now was not the best time to try and expound on AearHwesta's virtues to Crow, who seemed to have a less than stellar opinion of him. One thing at a time...
She couldn't help the curious expression passing over her face as Crow continued to speak, however. Was there more behind his words than the comfort of a friend? She wondered about it even as he did. And if there was...? She found she didn't mind the thought but she... didn't know that she felt happy about it either. Still... she didn't really know either way, and it was simply too soon for her to feel comfortable delving further into it. Not... yet.
"Someday... But at least I have the company of my one other dear friend to comfort me until I'm ready to go looking again, hm?" She smiled, a genuine smile, if a slightly sad one. "You and he... are the only two from this world I've really gotten close to, you know. I have met many, but found only two who I truly consider my dearest friends." And she was waiting for his reaction... sometimes her curiosity exceeded the limits she tried to put on it. Ah... what was more frustrating right now? The idea that Crow might have developed feelings for her right under her nose or her unease with her own indecisiveness about nearly everything lately?

Crow nodded lightly. Even though his own mind reeled at the possibilities, he'd never even thought of if she returned his feelings. Ah but he'd been harboring them so long, they almost pained him, but at the same time, they gave him strength. Bah. Now was NOT the time, he kept reminding himself.
He smiled, and would have asked what puzzled her, if she hadnt carried on with her statement. He smiled again, and surprised himself by hugging her. It wasnt something on his list of things to do today, but...he just felt he had to hug her. "Valefor..." he said gently, pulling out of the hug with a gentle smile "You are one of my most truest, dearest friends. I will do whatever is within my power, to see you happy again. Seeing you upset..." he chuckled lightly and shook his head, trailing off. There wasnt really anyway to finish that and not seem...sappy.

She was surprised by the hug herself, but she was also rather... pleased. She never really got hugs from anyone but Seer, but more often than not, that didn't really help... this one did. And Crow... dear, dear Crow. She was growing more certain by the moment that he harbored feelings of more than simple friendship for her but... without asking she couldn't be sure, and she simply wasn't willing to ask just yet. Not just yet.
Valefor did decide to give him a bit of a suprise back, though more because the physical contact was a solace to her right now than anything. She leaned over and put her head on his shoulder. "Hugs help... thank you." This was nice... if she wasn't afraid she was trying to latch on to him in an effort to replace rather than because these fleeting and very confused feelings were honest... Sigh. But that was the problem, wasn't it? She would not risk using Crow for a rebound. She'd just wind up hurting them both if she wasn't sure about what she was wanting first.

Crow blinked a bit in surprise, but then chuckled softly, he relaxed, not wanting to be such a stiff pillow for Valefor. "I'm glad i could help..i'll always be here for you Valefor" he said with a nod. His wings ruffled, but he soon laid them back against him "I wish only the best for you...." he trailed off, his mind wondering again....
Crow fretted, inside he feared his kindness towards Valefor, so shortly after a break up of sorts, would be seen as trying to play on her vulnerable state. He didnt want that, he truly cared for her, and would do anything for her...but what if part of him did want something to happen between them? Would he risk his friendship for...something more? He couldht help but chuckle "Why cant things be simple..." he muttered, more to himself.

Valefor chuckled at his muttered question. "Because then life would get boring, dearheart. Can't have that, now can we?" She stuck her tongue out playfully only to find herself yawning a moment later. "Hmm... Sorry. Err... Perhaps I could take a nap here? If it's not too much trouble. I can't seem to sleep at home lately, at least not very well."

Crow smiled at his dear friend. He licked her forehead "Rest assured, i'll watch over your sleep my friend" he said with another smile and a soft purr. "When you wake, i'll be here if you need to talk, or just..need a hug' he chuckled softly

Valefor chuckled again softly and butted at Crow's shoulder gently. "Well, I suppose I should hope I'm entertaining in my sleep for your sake." She tucked her mask between fore and hind limbs and curled but to sleep. "See you in a little while, dearheart."
