The young white male was being lazy. He had found that hunting lizards and digging in the sand got somewhat boring after a while and though he tried to find more interesting things to do in this heat it was better to find some shade and to lay under it. He flicked his tail occasionally when a fly came close to landing on him. How they managed to survive the heat of the desert he hadn't a clue. They did though, annoying buggers.
He stretched out a little and gave a large yawn wondering where his siblings were and what they were doing. He loved his family, it was rather large but he still loved it. He always had someone to play with, if he could ever find them. Everyone seemed to do their own things which left him laying in the shade on his side. His head was on the ground and his mouth open a little as he panted a small amount to help him keep cool. Today looked as if it was going to be a boring day!

"Ashi is always such a grumpy grey." Muttered the cub to herself as she roamed further from her family den. Normally she didn't mind her brother being so aloof, but some days she wished he'd at least show a little emotion. Without necessarily meaning to he had a way of making her feel annoying, or stupid, but she was learning.
She didn't even immediately take notice of the other lion not far from her, that is, until she caught him from the corner of her eye. Blinking, she slowed to a stop a yard away, staring at him with golden eyes.

He didn't notice the female cub basically because he wasn't looking. He was trying to think of something interesting to do and failing so he sat up and thats when his golden eyes saw the red colour near by. The red colour seemed to then turn into a cub that was also black and gold. She looked like no one he had ever seen before.
"Hello." He spoke calmly after all there was no doubt she was a true firekin, not like that slave like cub he had seen a day or two before. Maybe this female had seen her? He might ask a bit later.

Perhaps the swiftness with which that toothy smile of hers followed was a little startling. One moment she'd been staring as if mute, and then the next, she was full of energy and cheer.
"Hi! You're a much happier color than ol' grumpy-grey!" She declared without any explanation, not even the slightest bit hesitant to compliment him in her own way. She wasn't so careless as to simply wander over, however, as she did heed her mother's warnings not to be careless with her safety. Being on the smaller side she was wary of bullies, but it didn't stop her from carrying an upbeat attitude. Curious golden eyes continued to stare down the male, wondering. "What's your name?"

He wasn't quite sure what to say she had confused him instantly by just staring and then saying something that made no sense what so ever. He just nodded though and smiled. Then she asked a question that he could answer.
"I am Intuthu! Who are you?"
It was only fair that if he said his name she said her's. At least that is what he had always believed anyway.

"Moto'zari! Daughter of Azula and Tamu'meka!" She chirped, sitting down then to let her tail lash lightly behind her, dusting the sands. "What're you doin', Intuthu? Doesn't look like much fun. Do you have any siblings to keep you company?"

She was another cousin? Well that uptight mean cub had said he had siblings.
"Your that mean cubs sister!" He groaned a little and looked confused as they were both so very different. She seemed lively and cheerful and he was so cold and mean.
"I was thinking of something fun to do and I have five siblings, four brothers and one sister." He was proud of his family and you could hear it in his voice. He was also protective over his sister but then weren't most brothers over their sisters?

"You must mean grumpy-grey Ashi... He's not really mean, he's just... different." She tried to defend with an apologetic smile. "Sorry if he made you mad."
Well... in Zari's case, quite sad. She was unaware of what she was missing, however, as no one around here seemed protective over anyone but themselves. She smiled, nodding.
"I've got two brothers n' three sisters! Well, one besides Ashi, anyway, but he doesn't talk much either. Have you had any luck thinking of anything yet? Hm?"

Intuthu listened but didn't pay too much attention to her apologizing on Ashi's account. He was still a mean lion and that was that. He didn't care about much else! He wasn't sure if Ashi had told him about siblings, he had mentioned he had some but even if the white cub had forgotten this female soon filled him in.
"I think I am going to go to the borders. I always wanted to see what these dirty rogues look like. Want to come?" He felt like being a little adventurous and that was as adventurous as he came at the moment.

Suddenly Zari's eyes widened, and she didn't feel so sure. Her mother didn't say it was alright to go that far, and Zari dared not disobey her mother and face the punishment.
"I.... don't know... My mother told me we're not allowed to go that far without her..."
She lowered her ears to her head, feeling nervous now. She'd obey Azula, without question, but leaving Intuthu to go on his own wasn't an option either. What if he got hurt? (Nevermind that Azula would say it was his own fault and problem.)

He looked at her and how nervous she seemed to be and took the chance to be a real man!
"Look nothing bad will happen. I will protect you!"
Sure he would. He didn't know how to hunt and only ever played fight. If they came across a rogue his plan would be to run back into the desert and hide in the sand. His mother had told him that rogues just got lost out here because it all looked the same to them.

"No, it's not that, my mother said I'm not allowed. She'll get -really-, really angry. She hates it when we don't do what she says..."
Zari felt a little shiver run down the length of her spine just thinking about it, and shook her head.
"Maybe we could do something else... She never said anything about the oasis being off limits...? Maybe we'll see a rogue there?" She hoped, not wanting to disappoint, but not wanting to get into trouble, either.

Intuthu felt like being naughty and she wasn't going to stop him!
"She doesn't need to know! I would get in trouble too but if mother doesn't find out then there isn't anything to worry about!" He was being a little pushy but he wanted to go on an adventure and they were so much fun when you had another person even if they were reluctant!
