The bright sun shined down onto her, irritating her resting body. The heat warmed her eyelids as she slowly awoke with a stretch. Zuri rolled off of her side, laying down on her belly. Its been a while since she's arrived in the Pridelands, though she didn't get too involved in talking with others.
Instead, she just watched, trying to think of where to go or what to do next. It had been a long, long time since she had become separated from her family due to her own mistakes. Since then, much has happened. Since then, she had gone on an adventure. And since then, she had matured.
She wasn't fully matured, no. And she was hardly physically matured, yet mentally she had reached a new level of maturity. She knew how to survive on her own, how to be independent. Her independence has taught her how to hunt on her own, how to navigate throughout the lands and how to survive terrible dangers.
The pain on her side had passed for the most part, the scar from where a hyena had scratched her was hardly able to be seen or felt. She remembered the night perfectly, she was traveling with her beloved friend and traveling companion Isipho, when the hyenas attacked. Zuri once again found herself separated from a loved one, and she hadn't seen Isi since.
It was a combination of these events and others that turned Zuri into the young juvenile lioness that she is today. She was mature, independent and proud.
She had a goal: to find her family. She just didn't know where know where to go next. There wasn't a morning Zuri didn't think about this, it troubled her greatly. Several times she had lost hope, but she tried to keep some optimism. Her efforts would be worthless if she didn't believe they could have any affect. She had made it to the Pridelands. That was one of her main destinations. She knew that her old home was not too far from these lands, so she arrived here hoping that her family would also try to find her here as well.
Zuri pushed her body off the ground and took a pause to gently shake off any dirt on her. She took a few steps forward, stepping out of her resting place. She climbed on top of a large rock and looked out at the lands before her. In front of her stood a large rocky cliff, a beautiful sight. Smiling as the sun warmed her face, Zuri slowly breathed in deeply, then exhaled.
She leapt down from the rock, landing on all fours and started to walk to where the other lions gathered. She was ready to do the same as she had every other day since she had arrived in the Pridelands. She would sit, look, hope, and wait for her family to come to her.

The grey, golden dipped juve had been in the lands for not long at all. He had spent most of his time hanging around the border of the lands not doing much other then listening and watching. His mothers warning about the lands still rung true in his head but yet he had gone into the lands and though he never mentioned his mothers name, things seemed to be well. He had met a female who was somewhat strange but rather nice to talk to. He might try and find her again at some point but for now he was happy wandering about.
It was probably the most unlikely thing that he was going to find but he was lucky enough to stumble across a young lioness about his age laying on the grass. It seemed strange to see his yellow eyed sister there in front of him but if filled him with joy without a doubt!
"ZURI!"
He ran over and pounced her. He couldn't believe that she was here! He had been looking for her so long and now in the lands they were warned to not go to they had found each other! Though he did start to worry a little, if Zuri was here did that mean their mother was? Wouldn't she be really mad if she found them both here? Well they will deal with that when it comes to it.

The shock of seeing her long-lost brother paralyzed Zuri completely. All she was capable of doing was stand there, staring in amazement with her jaw dropped open slightly and her bright eyes widened. As her brother ran over to her and pounced her, the shock began to fade as the old memories rushed through her mind, old memories of her playing with her brother.
"Nuku!" she shouted joyfully once she felt able to move again. She nearly leapt ino the air in happiness, so delighted to see her brother after being separated for so long. "I can't believe its you!"
She ran in a small circle quickly to look at him. She paused, grinning wildly and made a playful face. Zuri was so happy that she almost felt on the verge of tears, but she refused to let any tears drop, she was too tough for that.
There was so much catching up that had to be done, but she found most of what she would have to say insignificant for this moment. All that mattered right now was the present and being with Nuku, being with her family...
She paused for a second, realizing that her mother was not anywhere to be seen. Had she been with Nuku? She was never quite sure, she wasn't ever sure what to think. "Nuku, where's ma?"

He was happy to his sister there was no doubt about that. being able to play with her once more and do all those cub things that they had done as cubs. Though neither are cubs now, they were growing very quickly.
"I don't know where mother is, I came looking for you! You ran off you stupid thing!" There was a little annoyance in his voice, after all she had run off and being the good brother he was he went after her but oh he was so annoyed at her for going in the first place. She was just stupid, so stupid. They would have still all been together if it wasn't for her!

"Yeah, I'm really sorry about that," said Zuri with a frown, not only because the news that her mother was still missing, but also because the guilt that she had kept bottled up began to release. On her journey, she tried it ignore the fact that the entire dilemma was caused by her own mistake, but that fact couldn't be ignored any longer. "Its all my fault we even got into this big mess. If I could go back, I would never have done the dumb mistake I made!"
"Nuku, could you ever forgive me?" she asked mournfully. She looked at her brother, only able to hope that he would be able to forgive her for her terrible mistake.
