Mahoto and Aura had spent the day by the river simply playing and having a decent time. Mahotoa, a small male cub with a brown solid body that highlighted and low lighted to almost silvery tones made sure to not get too close to the female. He was probably going to be an adult soon as changes had begun to rapidly affect him and well.. Aura wasn’t really much older than him. His amber eyes blinked lazily and he rolled over onto his back. Bah, that girl was up to no good playing with the powers that he so totally did not possess and of course, making him feel like it was going to be impossible to be really cool. Girls should not be more special than boys.. Or was he more special and just being too crazy. A frown marred the young cub’s face before he rolled onto his back and nearly fell asleep. The silvery fur shimmered and it took awhile to nearly fall asleep.
A small smile spread on the blue-white female’s face and she gazed over the cub with grudging affection. Mahoto had spent more time watching her mess with her powers and she had been pushing herself to seem like her grasp on them was more than what it was. For example, she had been trying to blow enough of a wind at the water of the river to make a lasting indention and some ripples. Her brain was feeling like it was pounding from all the focus that went into it. Sometimes Aura wondered why the moon had chosen to bless her with these powers and what made her worthy and other times she did the “whoo cool” dance. Now, she sat off on a semi-low branch of a tree soaking up the shade and hiding from sunlight. How Mahoto put up with all of this sunlight was beyond her. Others that took to the moon could be kind of mean, but Aura just loved the brisk feeling it gave her.. How happy it made her feel.

A short ways down the river, a young cub sloshed through a shallow area on the riverbank. Unaware of the two B'alam further upstream, he played by himself, quite enjoying the fun the river had to offer. He had become quiet the accomplished little swimmer, and had spent several afternoons simply floating down the slow expanse of the river, sometimes riding it all the way down to the beach. For now, however, he had his sights set on something new, sort of. He'd managed to flush out a little frog, and was now busy chasing it, planning on making it his lunch when he was finished toying with the poor creature. He laughed, and hopped along after it, unaware that he was drawing close to the tree in which the older blue female sat.

(XD Until more people come along I’m gonna knock Mahoto out for a bit)
Mahoto had fallen into a sun-induced sleep.
Aura’s sea green eyes were watching the water rather lazily. The sunlight was just a bit too much for her and the beauty that was the moon was her favorite time of the day, well, night to be out and in the water. For now she just focused on the water and wished that she could get a better control over her powers. Now, she was the only elemental that she had met, so it was hard for her to know if she was particularly weak or particularly strong. Aura figured that she probably just counted as medium. When her energy was up enough and the world was right she could sometimes lift pretty sized rocks or at least roll them. Contemplating this for awhile, she nearly missed the little green cub’s laugh. Focusing carefully, the female grinned. The little one was adorable.. Looked so sweet.

Orlo tried to hop like the frog was doing, before laughing again, and swatting it so that it had to flip over again. He frowned, however, when it gave a great leap, and plopped back into the water, swimming away swiftly, much to the dismay of the little green cub. He puffed, and didn't bother to give chase, knowing he could always find something else later. He blinked, suddenly, when a rather strange feeling came over him, and he looked about, before finally catching sight of the female up in the tree, a little grin appearing on his muzzle. "I thought something felt odd."

Ixchel had started her small trek up the river not to far behind Orlo, finally enjoying some time away from her ever watchful guardian. She couldn't keep her energy pent up inside the boring hut any longer, and snuck away. Her sun hued coat with it's many splashes and specks of color shown in the sun as she bounded up and down the riverbank, she chased whatever caught her attention; oh a butterfly! Wow, that leaf is dancing, let me dance with you leaf! ...what a pretty rock. She picked it up in her mouth and carried it around a bit as if it were her special treasure. She paused for a moment, seeing the green colored cub, tilting her head to the side, her ears perked forward in interest. Her eyes followed the direction he'd been looking, and she spotted the adult female as well...oh, she'd never seen any adults before....she was so pretty...

Aura had the strange desire to simply giggle when she watched the cream and green cub try to play with the frog. She honestly couldn’t really remember having the chance to play with others her age, but she didn’t remember all the fun that was so easy to have when she decided to chase after little creatures. Another favorite game had been to make leaves swirl all over the place and to try to play “Queen of the Leaves.” Oh yes, the games that used to be amazing thing… Managing to focus, Aura smiled lazily, “Hello little one… Aren’t you worried of floating away?”
The sent of another cub coming along made Aura lift her head up and look around a bit, but nothing could be seen for now. She figured that when the little one got close enough it’d be easy enough to strike up a conversation and until then looking would be rude to the friend she was already making in the other cub. Some adults saw cubs as annoying and a waste of time, but to the blue and white female all of them were just friends to have. Finally, the other came into sight but just slightly. She was a lovely thing and carrying a rock?
Turning back to the green and cream cub, Aura spoke again, “I am Aura.. Who are you, or are you just a sprite of the river?”

The giggling had escaped Orlo, but it was a sort of funny thing to him as well. Though he was a tad miffed that it had gotten away, since he really hadn't snagged much to eat that morning. Sure, you could go into the village for food, but he was growing particularly fond of hunting for himself. So, it wasn't always just a game for him. He cocked his head as she spoke to him, blinking a little. "Float away? No...I'm an okay swimmer. Besides...floating is fun. Have you never gone down the river on a hot day?" he asked, the little smirk remaining.
Orlo didn't really notice the approach of Ixchel at first either, but when Aura looked about, he did too, before looking back up at her again, unable to see the colorful female from his low point of view. Orlo hadn't met many adults yet so this was a somewhat interesting experience, and he observed her for a moment, noting her unusual swirling coat and the glow that seemed to emit from her body. "I'm Orlo." he said, and chuckled at the sprite comment. "No, but I do love being around the water."

Ixchel decided this would be the best time to meet an adult b'alam. Bouncing over to sit next to Orlo, she placed her rock between her paws. She'd played with the green and cream colored cub once or twice, but didn't know him too well. That wasn't something that was going to stop her however. "And I'm Ixchel. What are you doing up there?" As most young ones tend to be, she was full of questions.
She had heard some of the conversation, her ears turned forward and back as she thought, looking up at Aura with a tilt of her head. "Do water sprites look like cubs? I've never seen one...have you seen one?" Adults usually knew alot of things, so she'd been told.

Aura smiled a bit and paid attention to the green cub first. Dividing attention faily could sometimes be a bit difficult for the female since her mind would wander off on it’s own, so to speak, and she’d end up just not addressing something that was said at all. Since this had happened a few times, she kept her mind completely on task so to speak. “An okay swimmer? HmmHmmHmm.” Aura was more of a breeze-jaguar. Well, that made the most sense.
“Spend much time in the water? No.. I do enjoy midnight swims though.” Her eyes lifted to the bright sun but duty called so to speak and she lifted herself much like.. A lazy cat and leapt from a few branches til she found the shaded ground. Aura made sure to stay back where the sun’s full force couldn’t hit her but the two little ones could easily move closer if they wished to see her. “It is nice to meet you Orlo.”
When the other bounced over to sit beside the green one, Orlo, she smiled again and canted her head a bit to listen to what she had to say. Of course, all that was said came before her descent down the tree so she’d get to explain about being of the Night and not the sun. “I am glad to meet you as well Miss Ixchel. And the reason for being up in the tree is because that’s where I sleep most of the time and I had been napping up until an hour ago.”
The little ones didn’t need to think that they had woken her up, really, they hadn’t. She smiled and gazed off into the water behind the cubs for a moment, “Perhaps I have.. But they’re tricky creatures only there long enough for you to blink then gone the next….”
