Tsai Shen grinned a little sheepishly and rubbed at his head, shrugging a bit. Who knew? So much for being unobtrusive, though. Figuring he was allowed to talk now, he grew a little more serious, thoughtful. "Missing kids? I only heard about one... Some circus performing hotshot. My ma was at the opening of the Fire Nation circus in Earth Kingdom. Said that they left the word "Avatar" behind after they kidnapped him..."
An eyebrow raised. "Is that why you're looking for her?" It was interesting to see Rook look a lot more like the bending master he was.

"Yes, and there's at least three," Sen Wei rambled informatively. "That one, and then there's a kid from here missing, too, and one of those little air hippies." It wasn't that Sen Wei didn't like the Airbenders, it was just she wanted to hit them repeatedly until they stopped being such goodie-goodies. Especially Gesh. Argh. "Obviously they're all being taken to get the Avatar, and since I can't find her I wonder if they have."
"I doubt it. Kahamo's a smart girl," Rook reminded them. "Do you want me to help you find her?"
"No, I need you to stay here incase she shows up."

Air Hippies? It was a good thing Dao Rui wasn't around. Then again, the Fire Nation in her killed the HAPPY!Gene that seemed to be found in most air nomads. "Well, they obviously are after people that can't fight back." Tsai Shen shrugged, then frowned.
"Why don't all you masters get together and take the kidnappers out, instead of letting the Avatar go get them? Then you'd get to find out who they are and I'll bet they wouldn't expect you all to work together. That is, if they know about your love for Firebenders and Air Hippies, Master Sen Wei."
A deeper frown. "Not that you're in the right condition to be kicking a**, taking names, and travelling around."

"My condition is fine," hissed the woman. "And given they imprisoned the majority of us together, they probably are suspecting something like that. Not too mention one of us is already dead--" Good riddens to bad rubbish as far as Razuten went. "--and I can't seem to find most the remaining ones."
"Can't find them either, huh?" Poor Rook. He'd just gotten this place together and there were still woes all over the world. Taking children? That was just mean. "You're right, I should stay here. --I know! Why don't you go with her?" He gazed at Tsai Shen expectingly.
Rook didn't think her 'condition' was fine either, but like he'd said, he needed to stay. He had students flooding in and if he just up and left, there'd be a scene. This situation was best kept as low key as possible. And who knew? Maybe Kahamo would show up here.

Tsai Shen had already been thinking along the same lines. Nodded curtly, the tall boy folded his arms across his chest and simply gave Sen Wei that unnerving stare: the one he'd given to her last time they were alone together.
"I think that's exactly what I should do, Master Rook."
If anything, Sen Wei could use him as a distraction? He was rather pretty. She'd certainly never get bored on the road, he was a great storyteller and punching bag.
"It would probably be the least noticeable thing to do. I am often leaving to visit Khutulan, so everyone would assume I was there, and my aunt is not the type to tell them that I'm not."
Smile.
