So in my results I got:
Drama A* Religious Studies A English Language B English Literature B Maths D Child development D
And I enrolled in college yesterday and I got told I can't do film studies because it's full and I have to re-take maths. And the guy who told me this was my math's teacher's HUSBAND D; So now I'm taking
Sociology [but if a space comes free in Film I'm taking that instead] A LEVEL
Pyschology A LEVEL Media Studies A LEVEL Maths GCSE quick course
So I have to do a fast track course, sit the exam in November and get my results in January.
D;
He said it's so I can get into University but I DONT WANT TO GO TO UNI!
A plus side is that I only have 3 lessons after November. But I wanted to do Media, Film, Psychology and Sociology.
I actually can't do Maths though no matter how much I try.
I suppose it'll help when I finally get a job.
I hope being in college means that I can actually get a job and the three lessons means I can work a few hours in the week.
Also I might get 20 pound [$40] EMA a week if I can finally get a bank account.

Well done ^_^ You must be fairly chuffed with most of your grades biggrin I know I would be smile
I've just finished sixth form, headed off to Uni this October surprised Tre scary. Anyways smile
I would be suprised if a space dosen't open up in Film Studies, in the first few weeks there are usually loads of people swapping and dropping subjects. Plus you never know you might realllllly like Sociology!
Also there might be options for you next year, once you get the Maths sorted. I mean I've known people who've sat a whole course in one year, attening both the AS and A2 classes at the same time, I'm not familiar with your courses though, so I can't say how hard it'd be ^^;;
Alas, I know people who resat on a fast course too, sometimes it can make all the difference, its a smaller class and you can focus on what you have trouble with more as opposed to being dragged along with the rest of the class.
If you have any problems with it though, feel free to shoot me a pm, I'd be happy to help, I'm actually headed off to do Maths, I might just be able to put it a slightly different way, never know what might help!
Good Luck, I'm sure you'll love it smile
@Becky: College over here is free and optional, so if you go you become elegible for EMA for attending over getting a full time job or the likes. smile Uni's charge, £3070 a year O_O $6140 ish. Its a fair bit but theres loans and the likes.
Oh and Durem rocks wink heart

DUREM FTW
And anyways. Thanks <3
Yeah he said that people decide they don't want to do some subjects any more and I'm 2nd on the Film waiting list <3
I would have liked to do all 4 but I'll probably be grateful later on :]

Barton Forever. College isn't free here. crying
Which is one of the reasons I'm not going. Expensive, boring, way too hard, and I'm just not interested in any job you could get from going there. It'd be a waste unless it was for something like art.
I'm going to beauty school to be a makeup artist instead. heart

That's nowhere near a University, which would cost a lot more. No college for me.

My boyfriend's technical college to become a graphic artist or something or another with computers... it's sad I really don't know what exactly it is...digital animator or something... anyhoo, his costs about 54k total, I want to say... but he's got loans and stuff... They also gave him a fancy a** mac laptop to play on. His family bitched about the price 'cause none of them have gone to college and I was like "Welcome to college"
Although, once he gets certified at Valvoline (he's a mechanic whee ) then they'll pay for his college.
I ******** up on my schooling, so I don't get student loans and I'm having to pay them back now. It's annoying as hell to see when I pay $50 "Amount twoards principle interest= $30" stressed
But now I'm thinking when I move up to St. Louis, instead of trying to finish college for whatever degree I aim for, since I'm not sure yet, maybe I should just go to school to be a hairstylist or makeup artist, I want to do both... I'm just paranoid about hairstyling 'cause if I screw up it's semi-perminant. My boyfriend's grandma is a hairstylist, though, and she suggested it to me... I'm just too embarassed to ask her about it gonk Once I save up a bit after that, maybe I can go to night school to finish my real college education, and either become a couple's therapist, art teacher or get a foreign language degree with a focus on Japanese and German if I can find a school near me that will teach them to the levels I want...then I could move back to Alabama and be a translator for the Mercedes and Honda plants that are down here whee That, or a german/japanese teacher somewhere.
And I'm hoping to find a job like Valvoline, or AT&T and various other places like that that pay for their employees to take a few classes... since I'm paying out of pocket right now for a couple classes a semester... when I can afford it...which is not this semester -_-
And then, if I do all that, afterwards I'll probably go to massage school like my friend and I had talked about months ago... some guy said if we weren't looking at it as an occupation it's a better idea to just go after you've finished your other school.
Then I could have 3 possible jobs whee
And actually, my college was about $4k+ a year... although maybe that's not including the dorms...hrm... no, I think it is.... oh wait, no, that's a semester. It's about $8k a year.

God, I wish college was free. I think mine ended up costing around $60,000 for four years. I got some scholarship help, but I still have like $30,000 in loans to pay back, starting in November. Not looking forward to that at all....
But, now that I've started graduate school, they pay my tuition, and I get a stipend on top of that, which makes me happy.
