name: Sebastian Marks
age: 22
height: 6'1''
race biggrin emi- Human ((serpant))

Personality: Egotisitical, proud, and rash, bastian likes to talk a big game and very rarely backs it up. He was raised to believe that he was better then everyone else, but in reality he knows it is far from true. A childhood aquaintence opened his eyes to the world, and although he likes to pretend nothing has changed since then, it really has. At heart he's in constant turmoil... he's not sure why he feel compassion for weaker or less fortunate people, and he tries his hardest to force these feelings aside.

He's a major conformist, and will do whatever the group with him at the time is doing... wether it be just haning around or hurting others, he does what he is told and doesn't do anything to set himself apart from his friends. They are as cruel and pompus as his family, and thus he tries to be just as mean. When he's alone however, he's not sure how to act... he can't stop himself from being vindictive or cruel all the time, but then there are times where he realizes what he's doing and stops before some gets hurt. He really just wants to figure out who the hell he is and what it means to be 'sebastian... but being in such a close knit serpant society makes it very difficult.

appearance sad (below)) Generally wears what is popular... after all, he wouldn't want to risk becoming some nerd or something, right? sweatdrop

History: As far as demi-humans go, he's lived the normal life for a being his age. He's had his fare share of hardships, heartbreaks, and the like, and his own life altering events. As a child he was brought up in a very strict home environment, it was abusive, but it was very obvious what he was and was not allowed to do, and the consequences for disobeying were clear. He was never to associate with anyone that wasn't of reptile blood, and he was to be friends with the boys that his parents chose.

Long story short, he became a very sly, cruel young man because of it, and thought very little of everyone that wasn't in his little circle. Other demi-humans and humans alike would come and go on visits and vacations, but very rarely did a non serpant move into the community. That was, until Artemis came to town. Artemis, or Arty for short, was a demi-human as well, but not a reptile... no, not even cold blooded. He was an avian, a foul, sqwuaking bird! To say the least, he was not looked upon highly or even spoken to unless it was to sling insults... no one knew why he came, and it irked them so.

Sebastian and his group of friends took it upon themselves to make the birds life a living hell, and when Bastian had the time he'd go out by himself and look for arty just to poke fun at him. Yet every time he'd insult the boy or strike him, the bird would just take it with a smile and appologize as if he'd done something wrong. Finally the snake child could no longer bear it and one day he asked the boy why he wouldn't fight back, he was just as big as they and probably just as strong, and Artemis just laughed at Bastian and said,''I wouldn't do that.... its not like you know any better.''

The serpant was angered at this lackluster response and insult to his intelagence, but the bird assured him that he wasn't calling the black haired boy dumb, he just meant that one cannot rise above the way they were raised. Sebastian went home that night to think on the birds words, trying to comprehend what the hell he ment by the circumstance of his raising... surly Sebastian was his own man, he knew how to make up his mind! Even though on more then one occasion he just did what everyone else was doing... it didn't mean that he had no individuality or purpose outside of his family.

The next morning he went to prove the bird wrong and found that his people had finally had enough of the intruder... they had killed Artemis by means of hanging and left him to swing on the branch of his favorite oak tree. This came as a shock to the young snake... was he really meant to be so cruel to others? Was he destined to be a killer, a persecutor of those less then him?... From that day forward he thought differently... maybe not in all outward appearances, but he had become softer, and no longer picked on others when his friends weren't around. Although it pained him, he'd sometimes help people who'd been hurt or lead astray by his kin, and he'd do it with a frown and sullen expression. He may have assisted others because of what little kindness had grown in him, but that didn't mean he enjoyed or even understood his own actions.
