I recently found the non-fiction, anti-diet book French Women Don't Get Fat on the bus on my way home from work. Within it was a little note with a url and a pin number. The url was to www.bookcrossing.com, and the pin number was so that I could track said book online. I've been reading it, and I love it, and will be setting it free to a friend of mine. But where she sends it from there is a mystery, which is always fun. I recently decided that I was going to release my own book into the wild with a bookcrossing.com pin number, and see where it ends up. I'm only sending it off on the bus, but where it goes from there is anybodies guess!
What I want this thread to be is basically a discussion on what you think of the site, and the idea behind reading and releasing books so that others may enjoy them and pass them on... Plus the being able to track it online. Personally I find this to be an amazing idea, and so does my friend Meaghan, because she's agree to read and release the book as well. But what do you think of this idea? If you found one with the note, would you send it on? Would you start one of your own?

I've got one from the public library bookstore that I bought, but I've still got it. I don't let go of books I like, 'cause I tend to come back later and reread them. If I didn't like it; I'd let it go. Plus I paid for it.

That sounds cool! ...When did you write a book!? Where have I been? gonk
...Do you get any money for your book? >.> Curious. I'm looking at the preview for it now ^.^
Yes, I would read and release. That's cool biggrin I might start one of my own... I could release it at school in The Pit ninja

I wrote a book ages ago, Glory. Its been available online since earlier in the year. Heh. I've sold 9 copies, plus a few I have for myself. Its online, on Lulu.com, and yeah, I've made money off it. Not much, but I have.
