Marcia looked up from the careful slicing of the cucumber and blinked at Kurama. She hadn't noticed him come in, but she wasn't surprised or startled or anything of the sort. He was quiet, but so were her "brothers" and so it wasn't that difficult to interact with once she knew how to react. "I don't see why not. If it does help, go right ahead," she replied with a smile before setting the cucumber slices and remaining cucumber to the side so that she could cut the crusts off the bread and then butter the slices.
"Would you believe I actually have to hide my Ramen? I swear, there's this little guy who's obsessed with it and when I first stocked the cabinets, there were four packs gone in the first few days. Thankfully, none of my other preferred foods are that popular," she said, very neatly cutting and buttering the bread. "Oh, and your water's right there," she added, pointing to the bottle on the counter near her "work-space".

Kurama nodded again and sprinkled a bit of the salt into the water, then carried it over to place it near Marcia's workspace. "It does help. That's why people put 'salt' onto the roads and near their house in winter," he told her, though he really had no idea why. Perhaps he just liked talking, he was beginning to wonder. "A little bit is nice on that cucumber, too."
A faint smile appeared again as he reached for the bottle. "Thank you. So tell me about this little obsessed guy... I find it hard to believe anyone would like ramen so much that they would eat someone else's. It's not that hard to get, is it?" He paused, blinking at her for a moment, and then spoke up again. "And... what other things do you enjoy eating?"

"Ah. Well, I knew it helped melt the ice, but I didn't realize it helped water boil, too. Thanks for the tip," Marcia replied and picked up the salt, sprinkling just a little onto the cucumber before putting the top slice of bread on.
"Oh, I donno. I really don't know much about him. I'm not even sure if he really takes it. I mean, I've noticed other people make food for him, but in a nut-shell one way or another it ended up in his pudgy ninja tummy," she explained as she neatly cut a straight diagonal line through the sandwich. She pushed the plate towards him and started cleaning up and putting things away as the water heated up.
"Mmmm, lots of things. I'm not afraid to try new things, so I eat a rather wide variety. Seafood's very popular in my family, pizza and pasta, too. I'm rather partial to a mushroom calzone if Ree's in the mood to make one for me. Her's are better than I've been able to accomplish, so I leave that to her. And fresh fruits and vegetables are wonderful," she rambled on as she put things away. Her tail flicked back and forth as she straightened up from putting the butter and Plastic Wrap-ed cucumber back in the fridge and turned back towards him with a smile. She noticed the water boiling and carefully slipped the block of dry noodles into the hot water.

"It was my pleasure," he responded, his smile staying as he accepted the plate she'd moved towards him. His fingers traced around the edge of the plate as he watched and listened to her. It didn't seem quite right to eat until she could, too, so he would wait until her ramen was done.
His brow raised slightly at some of her comments. "A ninja? It would still be polite of him, or whoever cooks your ramen, to replace it later on." He paused a moment to take a drink of water, relaxing. "Have you ever had Tiramisu? If you'd like, I could try my hand at making you a mushroom calzone sometime... I'd rather good at anything that involves plants, including cooking them." Though he was much better at growing them, and a few other things... "I'm not sure anything that isn't fresh could really call itself just a fruit or vegetable anymore. Surely there's something else in it then, or had something taken away."

"We have a pair of gardeners at home, so they're constantly growing any plant Ree can get her hands on for them. Sometimes I wonder how they do it, as they aren't like you and me or even Ree, but I don't question their abilities," Marcia said over her shoulder as she stirred the noodles.
"Tiramisu isn't common in my family. They're not all that fond of coffee-flavored things unless there's heavy amounts of chocolate in it, in Ree's case, but I like it every once in a while. Do you like to make it?" she asked, looking over at him with a questioning look and a smile. She was really beginning to enjoy this, spending time with Kurama. He was a rather pleasant male, and not too loud like her "brother" Shunsui or too adverse to spending time with others like her other "brother" Charlie.

"Really? Gardeners? What are they like, then?" Kurama's ears pricked forward and his eyes gleamed with interest. He did like learning new things, and all the better if it had something to do with plants.
He ducked his head slightly and gave a wave of his hand, as if to brush the comment aside. "I might make it once in a while for my friends and have some, but never for myself. I'm not entirely sure my body could handle the caffeine," he told her, smiling softly, amused. He was rather enjoying Marcia's company as well. She was rather intelligent, and she didn't go on about things he didn't care to hear about. Or perhaps she just made them more interesting.

I have pictures of the family in my bag, so I can show you Asterius and Coco when we go back into the living room. They're... difficult to describe. Coco is the more well-rounded of the two. Asterius is more of the expert on roses," Marcia replied as she took the noodles off of the burner and poured the contents into a nearby bowl. She then emptied the flavor powder into the noodles and water, opened a drawer, removed a long wooden box, and produced a pair of chopsticks made of a dark red plastic, kanji scribed at the top in black which she used to mix the powder into the water.
"Ree likes her caffeine, but she doesn't like the taste of coffee. There's generally large amounts of caffeinated drinks in our fridge," she added as she walked over to the sink and poured some of the broth down the drain. She liked the noodles more than the broth, but needed the broth to flavor the noodles.
Sticking the chopsticks into the noodles to keep them from falling, she turned back to Kurama. "Would you like to eat in here or the main room?" she asked, tilting her head slightly to one side.

"I would love to 'meet' your family. I'm afraid that I don't carry pictures of my own mismatched family... There are so many to keep track of, and I'm afraid that I don't know most of them as well as I probably should," he admitted, almost wistfully. The truth was, it wasn't easy for Kurama to be around the other creatures; they were all so... lively when they were in the same place. Or sleeping, he mused as Marcia finished preparing her food. "Both Coco and Asterius sound rather pleasant, though." He redirected the conversation back to her family as he lifted his own plate and his water.
His head tilted in return, semi-conciously mimicking her movements. "Either is fine with me. Where would you be more comfortable?" he countered, equally content to eat in whichever room she wanted to. Then he waited patiently for her to lead.

"In the main room, I think," Marcia replied with a nod. She walked back into the main room, setting her bowl and bottled water onto the coffee table. She sat on the couch and pulled her bag close, digging through it until she produced a small black book. "Here, this is my little photo album," she said as she set the book on the table for him to look through if he so chose. She grabbed a cushion and placed it in her lap and the bowl on top of that, taking the chopsticks into one hand. "There's so many in mine, I get the feeling I meet a new one every day," she replied, giggling a bit before putting a good chopstick-grab of noodles into her mouth.
