*Ahem* If any of you have ever went to poetry.com before and have won a contest, you should know that they make you pay to get the prize. Okay, isn't the point of "winning a prize" actuallly winning something without paying for it? Example. You win a silver cup for a third place poem, but, no, you don't win it, you have to buy it! It was like 179.00 or something like that. mad I really don't recommend poetry.com, just warning everyone. ninja Poetry.com, I will get you... ninja

Someone once wrote a poem about how their cat bits its butt. And "won".
They accept everyone, regardless of the poem's crappy quality.

The Lisa Faerie Someone once wrote a poem about how their cat bits its butt. And "won". They accept everyone, regardless of the poem's crappy quality. I bet they go into a confrence meeting and have a big top hat and just draw names of poems out of there. *Okay, here we go!* *I picked two poems out of the hat which one should we make pay for a prize?* *First one is "My cats crappy a**.* *And second "Water falls of eden.* *The first one will do...* whee

Poetry.com is one of those scam sites. Everyone wins and if you want your name in a book, you better pay!
or at least, that's what I get from it. It's a pity aspiring writers with no street sense have to be tricked and their self esteem destroyed before they realize some people are just evil. But hey, that's something to write about. Heh.

Hello everyone I'm new here but I thought I'd get in my 2 cents. I don't like the way poetry.com does thier poetry books. But they do get your name out there. Soon after I was first published Noble House Publishers who are located in London asked me to send them some of my work. So they may suck, but they open the doors to much better companies.

That is true... the only thing is that they make you pay for it... and if your poor. *raises hand.* then that could be a problem.
