Rules: ~ No posting in this thread unless it's your test. ~ Limited to 4 posts. You can use less. ~ You have 2 weeks to finish your rp ~ Must use the battle field type assigned to you ~ You create a monster of your choice ~ Have fun!
1~Ice- Pretty simple with this one. The floor becomes solid ice. There are random chunks of ice protruding from the floor. And of course, you have little to no traction.
2~Desert- Pretty much nothing but massive sand dunes. You sink down into the sand, which slows you down a LOT. If the wind blows, the sand gets kicked up, which obscures vision.
3~Open Field- A plain grassy field with nothing on it.
4~Ocean- A mini ocean about 40 feet deep. There are five floating platforms for battlers to stand on. The plat forms bob around and it's really hard to keep your balance on them.
5~Dense Forest- The arena is packed from wall to wall with dense, tropical trees. As in any tropical jungle, there are lots of vines and other such things to get tangled up in.
6~Land of Fire- Parts of the arena floor sink away, leaving behind pits of lava. Also, pillars of fire erupt from the floor periodically.
7~Concrete- A plain concrete floor.
8~The Abyss- Near complete darkness engulfs the arena. Dark energy is abundant in this field.
9~The Sanctuary- Opposite of the Abyss. Light energy fills the arena. Its very bright!
10~No floor- The floor drops away leaving a pit filled with spikes. There are levitating platforms at varying heights, going all the way to the top of the arena. It's hard to jump from platform to platform, and trust me, you don't want to fall.

Austin yawned as he made his way down the hall. He was clad in an old Black ops vest, a pair of slightly loose jeans, some hand wraps, and some athletic sandals. “Mmmf…Why have a test so EARLY in the morning? It’s so troublesome…We’re not all early risers, you know?” Austin, of course, was talking to himself. He had a weird habit of doing that alot, and always seemed to be speaking as if there was somebody there next to him retorting his every opinion. Which was why he was so good at debate, speeches and arguments. This was one of the many hidden qualities that made him a great political figure within the society of shinobi. He was quick to find direct points and weaknesses within theories or concepts. But he was also superior at finding a compromise that would satisfy both sides of an argument, and leave no weaknesses open to view. That, however, had nothing to do with this. In fact, this was the last thing on Austin’s mind. Another yawn would go to escape Austin’s lips as he neared the doorway to his testing room. He placed his hands into his pockets rather nonchalantly, stopping at the door. He could feel an absolutely terrifying amount of chakra blasting its way through his body, even from his position behind the door. It wasn’t erratic. It wasn’t moving. It was standing there. And with his sensitivity, he could tell that it was being restrained rather poorly. Austin sighed. He knew the conditions of the test weren’t anywhere NEAR this level. This level of fight would KILL other students. It seemed stereotypical to bunch people together without any foreknowledge of skills or abilities, but that’s just how things worked out in these situations. The leader of a squad had to judge everyone equally and invariably as normal bystanders in the equation, if it was to be a one on one fight. Factors had to be taken into account, and probable conclusions had to be drawn beforehand. This was why Austin had stopped at the doorway. He liked to take into account preface information so that he could use it to his advantage later. “Gah. ******** it. I’m ready for some fun.” And just like that, Austin threw away all regard for levels of difficulty, factors of battle, and conclusions of actions. He pulled one hand from his pocket, and opened the door with it quietly. There was a small retracting pathway that barely made contact with the edge of the water one the other end. Inside, Austin would find a tremendous pool of water.
And atop the water’s surface, a dozen bodies. Water ogres, it would seem. All slain by rip wounds to the neck. Blood was still seeping into the water and dissipating into the pool below. In the center of the field, there stood a cloaked figure. It was garbed in black, with Red clouds. Akatsuki. And judging by the wounds the ogres had, it was obvious that it had to be Kisame, one of the seven swordsmen. “So, Kisame. Finally become independent of Itachi? Or did he just finally dump you?” Kisame would laugh in a harsh, gravelly tone. “Always with the smart talk, eh Two Tails?” “You know it.” Austin drew immediately that the situation had taken a turn for the worse. Hoshigake Kisame was a missing-nin from the village hidden in the mist, and was an expert water ninja. This field was like an absolute playground for him. And to make things worse, the only solid land was a set of five platforms. All of which were bobbing back and forth atop the water’s surface. “So. How many spirits have you guys gathered thus far? I assume, that since you’re here without Itachi, he’s gotten one implanted in himself and is now off having his kicks and giggles?” Kisame growled slightly, a bit antagonized by Austin’s ability to gather information from small details. “Yes. He was after Kyuubi, But instead he ended up with Ichibi.” “So I’m to understand now that Gaara of the sand is dead?” “HAH! You’d better believe it! And now, you’re coming with me. Deidara is in need of a spirit.” Kisame immediately pulled a huge sword from his back. It was encased in bandage-wrap. “But first, a little fun!” The platform, as luck would have it, then withdrew from beneath Austin’s feet. And he would slip into the moving current caused by Kisame’s oncoming footsteps from the water’s ******** rushed quickly, raising his sword to his side. At the moment he neared Austin, he swung with amazing speed at his shoulder. There was a blur of movement, and then a huge splash would consume the airspace of the arena.

The tempest of water settled quietly in the arena, as blood dripped down the wall near the entrance. Kisame stood there, examining the results of his assault. He’d killed Austin instead of subduing him. At least…That’s what it seemed like. A moment after the blood dripped from Kisame’s sword, the floating corpse of Austin burst into smoke. The body of a deceased water ogre was there, apparently with a new rip wound torn into his right shoulder. Kisame growled for a moment, then gave a twisted grin. “Goodie. You’re not dead yet. I was hoping it would be more amusing than that.”
A few meters away, Austin stood on a bobbing platform in a sprawled stance. He was forming handsigns slowly. “So my corpse replacement technique worked. Sweet.” Kisame turned to face Austin, and immediately brought a hand to the front of his body. He began forming halves of handsigns, then stopped. “Mizu bunshin No jutsu!” The water around Austin trembled, and two copies of Kisame burst forward from the waves. They were forming handsigns, and quickly put their hands forward. “Water prison technique!” Water rushed forward and engulfed Austin in an orb, imprisoning him. Austin gasped for air madly, then smirked. He opened his vest to reveal an explosive tag, which just then set off. Austin exploded, and the water prison and the two water clones burst into drops of water. Blood spattered across the platform, and random limbs flew in different directions to hit the wall. Austin smirked when he reappeared on the ceiling of the room. Kisame, still angered by Austin’s suicide, approached the platform quietly. Austin immediately engaged an illusion jutsu to make himself invisible temporarily, then followed Kisame’s movement carefully. Kisame stopped at the platform. “I know you’re still alive, Two Tails. Where are you hiding?” A drop of water slowly dripped down Austin’s face, and Austin went wide-eyed. He remained perfectly still, hoping the drop wouldn’t fall. Kisame began to form more handsigns, planting his sword into the platform temporarily. “Come out come out wherever you-“ The drop fell and hit Kisame in the head.
“ARE!” Kisame stopped on a handsign, then aimed straight upwards. “Water dragon technique!” Austin cursed his luck, then quickly leapt forward in hopes of an advancing dodge. The water immediately next to Kisame shot straight upwards in a line, splitting at the tip to form a pair of jaws. Austin neared it to a dangerous point, then spun to create a wind that pushed him away. The dragon collided with the ceiling, then split off into smaller streams. Austin did a front flip to land on his feet, then immediately launched off to advance on an unprepared Kisame. Kisame immediately went for his sword, but his lack of leverage, balance, and overall necessary time needed to pull the sword were all inadequate. Austin beat him to the punch. Quite literally, in fact; Austin delivered a devastating jab, cross, hook combination which caused Kisame to move backwards several steps, all while Austin was advancing. Austin sealed things up with a knockout-worthy uppercut, which actually knocked Kisame up into the air six inches. Austin took the opportunity to immediately leap up, then used his hip as a counterweight to increase torque on his leg. He performed an unbelievable roundhouse kick with his shin, straight to Kisame’s ribs. This blow knocked him flying across the arena, and into the cement wall like a meteor. The wall crumbled beneath the pressure of the collision, and Kisame coughed up blood. He slowly sat up amidst the impression he’d made, dusting himself off. “That wasn’t half bad, Two Tails. You’ve gotten much better since the first time we met. So I guess I’ll have to go all-out now!” Austin remained quiet. He was in his Thai stance, bouncing his foot slightly in 4/4 time. Kisame grinned, a bit of blood still dripping from his lip. He quickly formed a handsign, and several water clones rose up to form a scattered line in front of him.
Austin didn’t wait this time. He moved forward quickly, taking rapid shuffles forward as he attacked the clones with expert precision. Punches, kicks, elbows, they all went into destroying the water clones. By the time Austin was done with them, however, he realized Kisame wasn’t actually trying to get him with the clones. They were a distraction so that he could get back his sword. Kisame ran, and Austin turned in time to catch him. He raced to reach Kisame before he reached his sword, but made it there just a bit too late. Kisame drew the blade out in an upwards slash, and Austin was lucky enough to put his forearm out to create a guard for his vitals. A disgusting sound, like the ripping of flesh, was made. Blood dripped from Austin’s arm as he took two large leaps backwards in retreat.
And he gasped when he found himself caught in another water prison. Austin had missed the clone because of the rush, but Kisame’d hidden one beneath the water of the arena. And he was waiting for Austin to be standing on the surface to engage it. Austin looked around frantically, trying to figure out a way to escape. He hadn’t engaged another corpse jutsu, because that took lots of chakra. And he couldn’t GATHER chakra while in the prison. He could only focus it. Things seemed bleak now. Austin was ALWAYS a master of hidden pans, hidden chances. He always knew a way out of things. And now, here he was. Stuck in a simple trap, with no way out. To call this tense....would be an understatement of the highest caliber.

Austin’s thoughts raced as they searched for an escape. He’d frozen up a few moments ago, but he snapped back to reality when he realized he only had a few minutes before he drowned in his imprisonment. Kisame grinned his creepy, toothy, shark-like grin and laughed. “I can’t believe you were so distracted by me getting my sword back that you failed to notice it! I expected more from you, Two Tails. Oh well…I guess fun time is over.” Kisame sighed sadly, then placed his sword on his back again. Dammit, it can’t end here! Come on, think of something! Austin grit his teeth, then closed his eyes. His thoughts drifted to emptiness, and his mind became blank. Think of a happy place. A happy place…. A memory of Austin’s back yard emerged in his mind. It was hot. Dragonflies were buzzing around, randomly landing on blade of grass; only to take flight moments afterwards. Austin’s expression softened to a light smile as he remembered the familiar scene... Then he heard it. The buzzing of cicada. The sounds of summertime. Austin remembered trying to catch one before, but he never could. Why? Because of the unique buzzing created by cicada. The odd noise that cicada emit has a way of melding together to create a strange monotone that, in its own way, acts like a radar jammer. This was a natural defense against predators, as well as a way of communication. How was it a defense? If you tried to locate a cicada by sound, 8 of 10 times you would fail. Cicada stop making noise when you get close, but due to the continuation of sound made by other cicada, you normally dismiss the cicada you were hearing as a figment of your imagination. Wait a second. THAT’S IT! Austin re-opened his eyes, then immediately went for a kunai in his vest. He stabbed himself in his left hand, and blood flowed out into the water of the prison. Austin formed handsigns, and then stopped. He thrust his palm to the floating blood. Summoning Jutsu! Cicada star! There was a burst of smoke, and the water prison shattered from the sudden expansion of matter. When the smoke cleared, there stood Austin. And buzzing around his head in orbit, were five black cicadas. Kisame’s grin changed to an expression of curiosity and surprise at Austin’s odd choice of summoning. Austin continued on to form more handsigns, then stopped on another. “Clone technique! Insect partnership!” There was another burst of smoke, and when THAT cleared, there stood six copies of Austin(including the original). “Ready? Set? GO!” There was a huge burst of water, and the copies weren’t there anymore. They were running along the walls at high speeds; so fast, in fact, that they resembled streaks of gray-ish brown. “Is this your best, Two Tails? For a moment, I was actually starting to feel threatened. I’ll just take you down one at a time!” And there it was again. The cicadas began to buzz, and soon the room was filled with monotone droning. Austin, himself, was also buzzing. He was using his chakra to alter the pattern of signals coming from the ear, and redirect it to his vocal cords to act as a speaker and microphone. Kisame looked around now, confused. Which one was which? Where were they? He couldn’t follow their movements with his eyes OR his ears, and he certainly couldn’t track them by scent if the entire room smelled like sea salt. Austin smiled to himself, seeing the confused Kisame’s head spin about dizzily. Time to end it! “Engage!” One clone approached Kisame at high speed from the right side. He performed a high speed Thai roundhouse to the side of Kisame’s face. “East!” Another clone attack from the left, coming in with a spinning knee to the ribs. “West!” Another came in with an elbow to the center of his ribcage. “North!” And then, from behind, came another clone with a spinning back kick. “South!” Then, a clone burst out of the water beneath Kisame. He gave a powerful uppercut, much like the one Austin used just a few minutes ago, and knocked Kisame straight into the air. “Earth!” Austin, who’d been waiting for his turn, launched himself off of the ceiling. “HEAVEN!” Austin did a flip, and brought both elbows down as hard as he could on Kisame’s head. Kisame went straight down, colliding with one of the platforms. Austin landed coolly on one of the others, then turned slowly to see Kisame’s limp form slide into the water. “Signature technique; Grand convergence.” There was a light whirring sound, and the doors to the testing room opened again. Austin dismissed the cicadas, releasing the jutsu. He pulled out a single cigarette, and followed with a lighter. He paused halfway before he reached the door. Kisame’s body burst into smoke; it wasn’t really him. It was a replacement body. Kisame’d killed someone and attached a control scroll to the corpse. The scroll crumpled up and burned now, and soon afterwards, the corpse sank to the bottom of the testing room. Austin laughed once, then lit up his cigarette. “Figures.” Austin exited the room, a small trail of smoke dissipating behind him as he left.

Scoring: A- 85 credits B- 75 credits C- 65 credits D- 45 credits F- 20 credits
Length and Pacing: Pretty even and evenly paced. good job
General grammar rules: i found very few errors. just when you're rping make sure unless you are talking about the future to not use the future tense. there were a couple places where you used the wrong tense which is why i mention it. for example, "and he would slip into the moving current caused by kisame's oncoming footsteps from the water's surface" or "and then a huge splash would consume the airspace of the arena." i tried to read it as future tense and it didnt make sense. but overall good job
Personality: you included much personality. i especially loved the beginning when austin was yawning due to it being so early!
Use of Environment: well used, especially the water! my goodness were there ever plenty of water attacks
Details: you were very detailed and i think it was a perfect mixture of detail and actual plot. i commend you.
Overall: I give you 83 credits or A- GOOD JOB! 3nodding
