TheMessiah
Let me know whats up, I just got back into magic a couple days ago after a 3yr break so I've no idea what the new sets are and everything they entail. I do know they got lazy and reprinted a crap load of cards in time spiral and for some reason brought back snow based abilities.

It looks like it'll be a bit before the Lorwyn patch hits Apprentice. There's an unofficial one, but there's still some kinks to work out. Lorwyn is tribe based. Elves, Elementals, Treefolk, Merfolk, Kithkin, Goblins, and Shapeshifters. It's pretty interesting and the mechanics are fairly simple, Clash especially.

They actually did pretty well with the snow-based stuff.

Best I've ever done with an elf deck is 34 creatures 3rd turn, I think I got the -best- possible hand I could get out of my deck.

Concordant Crossroads- All creatures have haste (G)

Wirewood Insect(creature 1/1)- Return an elf to your hand to untap target creature(G)

Sylvan Messenger(creature 4/4)- Reveal the top 4 cards of your library and put all elves in your hand and the rest on the bottom of your deck(3G)

Priest of Titania- Needs no introduction

Wirewood Hivemaster(creature 1/1)- Every time an elf comes into play put a 1/1 insect token into play(1G)

I think you can guess how things went =P

I'm so out of the loop that the Priest of Titania does need an introduction. What does he do?

Taps and adds a green for each Elf you control. Evil crap commences.

I think if we do this tourney, it'll be sealed deck. How many people are familiar with that format?

I'm in, but I'm not familiar with that format.

Completely forgot about this.

Sealed deck is a format where each player gets a tournament pack and either two or three boosters (I forget which, exactly). For example, at the Lorwyn Prerelease, we got a Lorwyn Tournament pack (70 cards, 25 land and 45 random cards) and then a couple of boosters. We were then allowed a set amount of time to construct a deck out of all of that. We then played best two out of three, and could keep playing, although after a certain amount of eliminations your possibility for prizes drops to nothing.

I'd give it a shot.

Yeah, I like sealed deck format because it puts everyone on a more equal footing. Especially for those of us who have trouble making those great strategy decks. sweatdrop

I love buiding decks (when I have time, and the actual physical cards to look at and sort). But I'm not really any good with super strategies, I just like making cool themes.

Hi, I'm horrible at keeping track of my own threads.

Sealed definitely makes that easier, yeah, though you still need to have a good grip on the meta and all that.
