I don't feel like debating because I can see the ups and downs of both sides, but ultimately I'm against it in the case of more valuable items. 2% doesn't affect cheaper items that much, but the rares are another story.

biggrin I'm also against it. I say most rich people are greedy and the damn non scamming poor people can't keep up with the price rises unless they dedicate all their free time to gaia.

My best example would be this: Say an item is being sold for 1 million gold. If 2% is taken away from the seller, they won't be receiving 20k of that sale. That's quite a bit. o.o

I was focusing more on the gold lost than the money gained and big numbers are better at showing that.

trades don't get taxed. I'd just do it there... Advertise in your siggy that you're selling whatever it is... I still say ******** you to those who can't deal with loosing 2% of their mill. They have a mill! Give me a break.

I do find it interesting how Gaia decided to leave a loophole with the trading system not being taxed.

my main problem with the tax is that people are just going to hike up the prices on their items to make up for it
say an item costs 10k normally, but since 2% is taken out of it, the seller only gets 9800
so therefore, to make up for their 200 gold loss, they'll now charge 10,200g for the item
(and yes, 200g doesn't seem like a lot, but with the number of items being sold on a daily basis, it can get to be a lot, and like some people have said, with larger items, they'll have to raise the prices even more to cover their costs)
so this new tax isn't going to help inflation, it's going to make it WORSE, in my oppinion

Well, like gaia said, they're not sure about this,... they're just gunna watch and see if it works. I think it's pretty cool that they actually had a guy come in and discuss things like ... well my mind is blank. Stuff having to do with the rise and fall in cost of stuff.
GOTTA GO TO WORK NOW! scream
Don't be a stranger sweetie. wink

So..I hadn't noticed the tax until this morning when I was forced to sell at the new marketplace.......and I don't like it. I already have a hard enough time scraping gold together for items I want >.>

I really don't care for the new tax inflation that they added to the market place, I don't think i'll be selling a whole lot of stuff anymore.
