Mo had to stop and think for a second. He did his best not to seem the least bit worried because now he had to pick his brain to figure out what else he could teach the cub that the cub didn't know. So he decided to go by the possibility that the cub was considered too young to have really been taught anything. The cub obviously knew something but that could have easily have been from observation. All he could detect were the antelope.
So... what did Shujaa do? If they were out this far, that was. Well, they kept the pride safe and watched its boundaries. So his brain performed a miraculous feat and put it all together in seconds rather than the agonizing hours it seemed like it was.
He smiled down at the cub, a smile that suggested he would have held back under normal circumstances, a smile that assured the cub that he was special. Good thing the cub didn't have an ego issue, eh? "Alright," he said. "Let's take a walk." He stood up and began walking. "We're going to look for signs of life. This can be anything like trampled grass, fur snagged on a bush, overturned dirt, anything. And anything you see something, I want you to point it out and tell me whether you think a threat could have caused that or prey. If you miss some things, that's alright. We'll just work off what you do see." Hopefully, someone, somewhere, was proud of him.

Um almost pissed himself with excitement. He literally bounced in front of Mo, prancing around as if he suddenly owned the world. He could use his best asset and his imagination all at once! While training to be a Shujaa! It was as if the gods had suddenly decided that they loved him and wanted him to be as happily as he possibly good be. Mo should be very proud. Immedately, the little blue cub set to work scanning the savannah grass around them for absolutely anything that he could point out and get worked up about. He had quite a bounce in his step, possibly more than a cub his age should when it came to being happy about schooling. If they were humans, he'd surely be labeled the geek who actually enjoys the academics of school. Of course, there wasone major difference here. Not only was Umlindi learning something, but he was gaining general life skills that even a non-Shujaa could use.
After what seemed like years to the now impatient little boy, he spotted something. There was a burrow of some nature to their right. Um had surprisingly never come across a burrow before, and had never seen anything that might live in one. Simply knowing that it was a hole, he practically hopped to it, a ridiculously pleased look on his face. "Look, look!" He bounced back to Mo with a sparkle in his eye. "That's a sign of life. Something made a hole." He bounced back to the hole and sniffed around, though he couldn't seperate any of the scents. It was more for show than anything else. "What did this, do y'know?"

Walking along, Mo was not paying attention to the scenery really at all. Like he told the boy, he was going off of what the cub said. Not what he didn't. So he waited for the cub to say something.
The burrow. There were many things that could live in the burrow. Rabbits, weasels, a type of owl, snakes, mice, lizards, meerkats... the list was rather endless. Mo padded slowly over to the hole as the cub made a display of sniffing around, a rather ridiculous one that made him feel like the cub was trying to act like a dog. The hole was small. It was not wide and did not appear to have a shelf of dirt above it. It wasn't a meerkat burrow. On the bush outside the burrow, there was fur snagged on it. Mo gestured to it with a paw. "Rabbit."

"Rabbit?" He stared into the burrow, not really processing what the older lion was saying. He was just happy that he had successfully found a sign of life. Even if it hadn't been with his nose, he'd done it. Some day, he'd need to find stuff like this as a Shujaa. Maybe not rabbit holes, but he'd have to be able to find things that stuck out, things that weren't the same. Granted, a burrow stuck out like a sore thumb when surrounded by flat dirt and savannah grass, but he was just a cub. In his mind, this had been an awesome feat. He'd done something on his own, and it was with his best asset. Even though he really did want to use his nose to find things, he was proud that he had conquered with a completely different sense. He couldn't wait to tell his dad about this.
Looking back at the lion he thought was a body gaurd, he seemed slightly perplexed. "Cool. But what's a rabbit?" He'd only hunted bugs in the den and tried to pounce on birds up until now. It was almost like he was sheltered, though that wasn't all too true. He'd probably been near other critters loads of times, but he was always so absorbed in pretending he as a mighty sentinel and warrior that he hadn't noticed them.

((totally meant to say hare. so retarded xD;;;; )) Hmmmm, a rabbit? "Well... a rabbit is a small creature with big long ears and mighty swift on its feet. It's not worth chasing for a meal. Usually they live in groups and usually this wouldn't be the only entrance to a honeycomb of tunnels below. But from the looks of it, the rabbit's all alone," Mo commented. He certainly felt better putting things to practice. He wasn't feeling so helpless - or worthless - now. After all, he couldn't say the cub was stupid or clueless but just unexposed to many things. And now the cub would have an edge when his dad took him out for actual training.
Mo made the motion for them to continue. There would only be so much time left before he would need to find a reason for the cub to go back to his den least his family miss him too much. Mo certainly didn't want to be accused of cub napping or some nonsense like that.

((haha i usually call hares rabbits instead by accident. no big.))
The cub listened intently to what his body gaurd had to say. Even though the idea of a body gaurd for a non-royal lion was sounding more and more ridiculous to him, he still believed it in his more imaginative parts of his mind. Even if it wasn't true, and even if he stopped beleiving as soon as he made his way back to the family's den, it was an exciting idea. At least in the stage of life, everything was a game to Umlindi. A game that would one day lead to becoming a Shujaa. Part of this game was paying complete attention to what Mo had to say about rabbits. They sounded like scared little things, running around in their tunnels below the ground. "Why don't they come up?" He didn't think he'd like being a rabbit much. They must not feel sun warmth much. Even if Umlindi wasn't particularly in love with sun bathing, he still liked the prickly feeling that he got when he was playing make-believe outside the dem during the less harsh hours of the day, such as early morning and late afternoon.
Um was a little disappointed that they were just leaving the hole behind, but followed his body gaurd none the less. Best to just listen to what Mo had to say for now, he figured. After all, it was training, right? He'd use this some day to help defend the pride. If they were moving on, though, they better be doing something, or he'd leave. At least, that's what he was deciding. "What next? I can't see anything else that means life around here... so what next?" If it wasn't an annoying question, it would be soon. Though the cub had an over active imagination, he still needed something to stimulate him.

It was quite alright that Um was starting to disbelieve because Mo was becoming quite bored with the whole exercise. It was so mechanical, the process of it all, that there was nothing exciting for him to cling to to keep him going.
"That's assuming that they're down there. And if they are, it's because they've been able to detect us from a long way off and have gone down there to hide from us." he replied.
"And I believe we would continue along but I've just received a message that your parents are back." he gestured to his head as if to suggest they could communicate telepathically. "And they're going to be wanting to see you." Mo had to wonder if he'd be better with his own kids ...if he ever had any.

Um flashed a weird sort of look at the adult when he pointed at his head, but shrugged it off. The cub was certain he'd heard that lions who hear voices in their heads weren't very healthy, but Mo seemed okay, and it was about is parents, sooo... he simply perked up. If his parents really were back at the den, that meant he might be able to coax a bit of training time out of the might Angu. Though training with his 'body gaurd' had been somewhat productive, he doubted he'd ever have to find a rabbit hole. Though, really, who knows? One day a band of killer hares might descend on the Mteo pride and Umlindi will be the only Shujaa who will know how to find their secret networkings and tunnels. The blue lad's eyes lit up at the very fantasy.
He was so absorbed in thinking about killer hares that he nearly forgot to say good bye and thank Mo, which was simply no good. A future Shujaa needs manners. "I should get to them, then." He paused and nodded his head with an air of duty. "Thank you for this... valuable information. Maybe I'll see you around the pride sometime?" He didn't wait for an answer, even if it was a little rude. Honestly, he wouldn't be heart broken if he never saw the tan and white male again. It wasn't that he didn't like the other or anything like that; it was more of a lack of attatchment. The whole thought process was gone from his mind within seconds, as he skipped back to his den, stopping every few moments to fight off imaginary hares.

"Bye," Mo replied with a light chuckle. The cub, believe it or not, seemed so unbelievably full of himself that it amused Moyenda. The cub's... defect made his ability to learn from Mo ineffective so really... Mo didn't blame himself at all. But he hoped someday, someone would keep that cub from getting in up over his head.
