"Dance you glowies!" Kerrie twirled around, her eyes darted around to look at the glowing things that were moving about during this night. These things were known as fireflies but Kerrie didn't know that. She just thought of them as glowies because they glowed in the dark. Her eyes glowed and she liked that, anything glowy was nice.
She leaped in the air, and fell down again. Her candle lay forgotten near a tree, its light shining in the darkness. She twirled again, round and round. Laughing loud as she did so. It was funny, all this twirling with these glowies all around. Very funny, to her.

Twilight, some distance away, was chasing something else- a small, shiny red ball. It was a bit hard to keep track of, even with the few fireflies and the moon above lighting his way. So when he saw something else in the distance- a small but steady light that flickered but did not move- he was compelled to investigate. It had to be more interesting than chasing his tail in the dark.
When he came closer, he didn't even notice the candle. What he did notice was the white Numa, dancing with the fireflies. It was a simple sort of dance, but it was still a dance, at least in Twilight's eyes. And if somebody around was dancing, he wanted to join in.
Without another thought he stepped out of the shadows, bowing slightly. "May I join your dance, miss?"

She spun and spun some more, giggling even more. The voice made her stop in her tracks. She froze, blinking for a few seconds before yelping. She blinked a dozen more times, her wings fluttered and she rose from the ground. Turning she saw the unknown.
"My name isn't Miss!" She pointed a claw at the unknown, not understanding the meaning of miss at all. "It is Kerrie, so you gotta ask if you want to dance with Kerrie cause there's only me." She rose her other front paw to her mouth, running a claw along her face.
"Oh!" It was so obvious. This unknown must know one of the glowies really well and that glowies name was Miss. She landed on her back paws, walking slowly to the unknown. "Which one is Miss? Introduce us." Kerrie grinned hugely at the other.

For a moment, Twilight thought that she hadn't heard. He was about to ask again, more loudly this time, but she spoke with such force that it was his time to blink in confusion. She was a bit odd, but then, so were most people once you got to know them.
While he was slightly taken aback, he dismissed it. "I'm sorry," he apologized. "It was my mistake. But Kerrie, I would like to join you." He bowed again, trying to be polite, and because that was what you did for dancing. "If you don't- I beg your pardon?"
Who was Miss? Twilight hadn't the slightest idea what she was talking about, and wasn't really sure how to react. "I-I don't know who Miss is, actually. Maybe we'll meet someday." Hopefully that would suffice.

"But you called for Miss!" Kerrie eyed him, suspicion forming in her eyes. This male didn't seem to remember that he called for a Miss and not a Kerrie, maybe he was just forgetful. Yes that had to be it! Kerrie let out a sigh of relief, and she grinned some more at the male.
"Let's dance then! With the glowies." She looked over the shoulder at the glowies, the majority of them was still there. Kerrie flapped her wings and hovered over to them again. She twirled once and then stopped, waiting for the male to join her.

All the fuss about Misses made Twilight's head spin. He was only trying to be polite... but then, who had decided that calling someone "Miss" was polite? Maybe this one played by her own rules, and that was something that Twilight could respect.
"I didn't know you already had so many partners," he murmured, pawing at a stray firefly. "But if you're sure you wouldn't mind, I'd be happy to join you!" He didn't need to be asked twice, and was already letting his body relax, so that he could move to his internal rhythm.

Partners? Kerrie stared at the glowies. They weren't exactly dance partners, just friends that she liked to be around with. And the glowies had such a pretty glow to them, glowing things were rather nice. So were flames. Kerrie turned her head while twirling to stare at the flame of her candle.
When Twilight joined her, Kerrie was glad. A Numa to join the fun, that was great. "Yeah." She agreed. She twirled some more before landing on the ground, twirling for too long could make her dizzy. Kerrie blinked and shook her head to get rid of the dizziness. "Too long, but what else can you do but twirl?" Nothing, probably.

"Oh, there's a lot you can do besides twirl," Twilight said knowledgeably. To demonstrate, he did a half twirl into a sort of leap, landing on one foot. From there he leaned backwards, then sideways, and then onto his front paws. From this awkward position he tilted his head at Kerrie. "From here, you look like you're dancing on the sky."
Wouldn't that be something? To dance among the stars themselves, with the clouds for a floor and the moon as a spotlight? That would probably be the best dance ever, Twilight imagined.
Getting dizzy, he rolled into a somersault, and when he was upright again, fell onto his back. "Maybe everything makes you dizzy," he speculated.

She watched and then attempted to imitate. She leapt and then tried to twirl, she didn't move her wings as she wanted to land on the ground. She fell, landing hard on her backpaws before falling on her bottom. She rubbed her bottom, scrunching her face up in slight pain. "One failed." She muttered to herself, standing up again.
"Dancing on the sky, that would be..." Kerrie thought before her eyes widened and a slow grin crept along her face. "Awesome!" Was the only weird she could think of, her grin widened and her arms reached towards the sky. She put them down and stared hard at her backpaws. She leaned back and placed her arms behind her, her paws touched the ground.
Kerrie began to raise her back paws up before they were in the air. She moved her head to see if she was dancing on the sky yet. Not really as she wasn't moving, her front paws moved sideways with her head still tilted sideways. She toppled over, falling in a heap. "These dance moves are hard." She complained loudly. "They did not make me dizzy, frustrated instead."

Twilight watched intently as Kerrie imitated his movements, wincing when she lost her balance. "It takes practice," he offered, trying to make her feel better. He still fell too, from time to time. But it got easier.
Rolling onto his stomach, his eyes sparkled. "Wouldn't it be? Except maybe, if you had to do it upside-down, you'd get even dizzier." There had to be a way to dance on the sky without being upside down. However, Twilight didn't think that he'd figure it out anytime soon. "Then again," he added, "it'd be worth it."
She was trying again, and not doing a very good job. Frowning, Twilight stood up. "It helps to do it on your feet. Unless you're breakdancing." Not that he was an expert on that specific style. He only knew that it involved a lot of spinning and being upside-down. "You might want to try something easier first. I can help, if you like."

She scratched at her head, her head bobbing almost as if she was nodding. "Practise." She repeated, slowly. "I don't like practising much....." But if she had to do it she would, those dance moves looked super fun when done by Twilight. If she could do moves like that, even though she was still upset that she had done them so incorrectly, it would be great.
"Maybe not that dizzy but yeah it would be nice if we could. But how would we even get on the sky?" Kerrie asked aloud, blinking. Kerrie moved her feet around in the grass, staring intently at them. "Flying's better but I do want to dance real good with the glowies." She looked over at Twilight. "Breakdancing?" She had no clue what that was but then maybe that is what he wanted to teach her? "'Kay help me!" She started to grin.

"It's not always fun," Twilight agreed. Practicing other things, like climbing trees or flying, could be painful. But he never really minded practicing dancing, especially when he did it with a partner. "But it can be worth it. And anyway, dancing's not really something you can do wrong in the first place." You could get better, with practice, but you could never do it wrong. Maybe that was one reason he liked it.
Dancing with the glowies would be fun too. For a moment, Twilight entertained the idea of trying to only dance when one of them was lit, and freezing when they were dark. But he dismissed it- that would be better to try later. "Alright!" Positioning himself behind Kerrie, he started to hum, just a simple two-four beat. "I'll be your music," he said between bars. "Just move your body the way you feel like it, and I'll help." Already he was tapping one of his feet in time with the music, and his tail was swishing back and forth eagerly.
