ACCTUALLY! Our superintendant just bought us a full set with 2 leads, 2 double tenors, chelos, bass, guitars, double seconds, and tenor bass. I play lead myself, and am part of our schools steel band. We do gigs and stuff, get paid. Pretty fun. MARGARITA VILLE BITCHES!

haha Margaritaville is so awesome, heck Jimmy Buffet is awesome : P
we only have two lead pans and a bassist (violin) who can also play drums and bass guitar if he wanted
so a total of three players in teh steel drum group this year : P
wat do u guys play? we have a slow song thing goin this year its so lame, like one song out of all 5-6 is fast. funny since its like the only one i kno by heart razz
were playing songs like "can you feel the love tonight", "the girl from ipanema", "jouvet music" (lol dont ask, we thinks its french : P), and one other famous song but i can think of what it is right now
haha one guy actually learned how to play "crank dat solja boy" on the steel pans lol

well our percussion program has about 50 or more people in it, so our music is somwhat advanced throughout the 4 bands. Last year we played this insane pieve called astrud at our steel band consert. It was sweet, but in a minor key. Groovin. We played Jump in the Line! thats one of my favorites. It's fun and easy. When we go to do gigs like birthday parties, we play all fun songs though. astrud is an "Advanced peace." All 16th runs...and the solo has a buncha 30 second notes. But it's sweet. Long as hell. Those are some cool pieces you play. Jammin

haha last year they played songs like Under The Sea and Mama Look A Booboo so im kinda regrettin not joinin last year
plus i get foreign language credit from it cuz its a "fine art" or so ive heard : P

We do like A-days, steel pans, B-days, concert crap. I hate concert crap...Steel pans is a nice escape.

well weve kinda ditched steel drusm for the year lol we now basically sue the class for whatever, i practice the tenors, one guy works on musical theory and the other guy works on his guard work for the fall show
