WTF? How will that cut inflation? You ask me it's just going to cut into our pockets and once again keep the rich rich and the poor even poorer. I've lost soooo much gold due to lack of exchanging because this computer is too slow for marketplace transactions and the exchange sucks now because there are dumb people that are making things wayy harder. I think they're doing it because the only good way to make profit will be through buying envelopes. Which if you ask me is ridiculous for all the kids out there who's parents think this site is a scam and wont even look at it.

In a way gaia is a scam. =/

There is now a 2% listing fee for all items in the Marketplace. This means that if your item is sold, Gaia will take a 2% cut of the selling price.

Umm... Let me figure this out for a second... neutral

So, if you...

sell an item for--------you get---------------you lose

10,000 gold-----------9,800 gold-----------200 gold
50,000 gold-----------49,000 gold---------1000 gold
3,000,000 gold-------2,940,000 gold------60,000 gold

Conclusion: This change sucks. scream

I'll just not sell anything in the marketplace anymore and go back to exchanging.

WHERE IS MY 1000 GOLD THAT I PAID FOR MY VENDING LISENCE!!!

And whats up with the WWE stuff? Is that because of summer slam?

You're welcome wink

Anyways, I'm really glad to know that Lanzer himself isn't sure if he really wants to keep those 2%, and after reading his announcement, I've become kinda curious. whee He's right about certain items being unbelieveable expensive, but I wonder if prices are really going to drop... No vender is going to sell an item for less than he's bought it for, I guess... At least not right away...
But we'll see very soon stressed

Oh, and about the 1k: I think they'll give it back once they've launched the new marketplace rolleyes

I am not that bothered buy it. Though it will make it a little harder to just make 50 gold this way.

That 2% would not stop inflation but it would slow it some.

Though if they want gold out of the system then they should also come up with some games that you need to spend gold to play. That would be fun (it would sink some gold out if it is a great game).

I don't mind it, then again I don't sell many big items.

I don't think they are doing it to make us donate more... but even if they are, they still gotta eat too don't they?

It would mean if people start buying more MCs to get what they want. That things will just get better as they will have more money flowing in.

But a 2% cost I do not think will effect the market as much as people think. Though there is a sweet spot when that 2% will make a difference I know it. But things will adjust around that over all.

I think lanzer isn't really rich at all and he's mad that he can't afford the new mc's every month.

Either the admins are crazy, idiotic bigots...
or they really do believe this will balance out inflation.

I have faith, so I will stick with the second option. gonk
Although, I believe the "balancing out" will take some time. n_n

lol.. razz funny.

Well I was proven to be right, our gaia's stupid economist has been proven wrong, the prices inflated a good 3-4k for most donation letters atleast :] and new letter is selling for 2k more than it usually does a week after release.
