I started playing clarinet in fourth grade.
In seventh grade, my band director asked me to double on trombone because he wanted to start a jazz band at my middle school.
I did, and I picked it up pretty quickly.
In high school, I made the decision to drop the clarinet and solely play the trombone for all the bands.
It was a great decision on my part.
My junior year, I played tuba in concert band, and absolutely loved it.
And now that I look back, I loved what I played and if I had a chance to go back and change what I played, I wouldn't. It's made me who I am, and I like me. smile

For a while, I wished that I would have picked drums instead of trombone, but then I thought about it, and I remembered all my friends in the low brass, and then I decide to stay where I am.

At the middle school I go to, when you start band everyone trys all the instruments, and a week later you're sent home with a sheet telling you of the 3 instruments they recommend you to play.

For me: 1st- Tuba 2nd-Baritone/Trombone 3rd: Clarinet

I sometimes wish I had just chosen clarinet over the tuba.
